Happy Saturday,

Two Steps, Forward, And Two Steps Back

Do you ever feel that in your spiritual walk with God that you take two steps forward and fall back two steps? If you do, you are not alone. It often seems we cannot get ahead.

Yet even in the falling back, we are learning something. The most important step we make is getting up and continuing our walk with God. Giving up is not an option if we want to walk with God.

We may have to dust off our clothes and doctor a few cuts and bruises, but we must continue to walk forward with our Lord and Savior. One day we will walk right into Heaven, to our Heavenly reward. We cannot even imagine the joy that will fill our hearts and souls.

Maranatha,

Betty

Happy Monday,

Violence For Violence Sake

A year ago today, Hamas chose to go in to Israeli territory to kill and kidnap innocent Israeli young people. This time last year we expected the world to come out screaming for justice for the Jewish people.

Instead, on College compasses in America and in protests around the world young people protested in favor of the terrorist. Two American babies were kidnapped that day. No one protested for them to be set free. By now we can assume the babies were killed.

Just as the Bible predicted of the last days, what is evil is considered good. Many of the protesters were young women. Young women who are clueless about what would happen to them if they were under the thumb of Hamas.

We are indeed living in the last days and evil is growing by leaps and bounds. The only thing we can do is stay close to our Savior, Jesus. Make sure we are ready when the trumpet sounds.

Maranatha,

Betty

Happy Saturday,

The last few days have been very hard. I felt I was at the end of my rope, but when I let go, I realized that I am sheltered in the hands of God. I cannot say that was a drastic change in my circumstances, but I felt the peace of God over me.

For the last 6 months, there has been turmoil but God was always with me. Everyone Christian I know has been under hard attacks from the devil. He knows his time is short and he is fighting hard against the people of God.

Even in our hard circumstances, we can still praise our Heavenly Father. Soon we will leave this world for our Heavenly home.

Maranatha,

Betty

Happy Thursday,

Daily Prayer for October 31
CHRISTOPH FRIEDRICH BLUMHARDT
“Let those who fear the Lord say: "His love endures forever." When hard pressed, I cried to the Lord; he brought me into a spacious place. The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me? Psalm 118:4–6, NIV
Lord our God, dear Father in heaven, we thank you. How often you rescue us from all fear and distress! How often you hear and answer us! Grant that our hearts may always be eager and joyful because you answer us. There is nothing else for us in this world; you are our one hope, our only hope. You alone can help our times, help the nations, help each person. Nothing else matters to us. Lord our God, for the rest of our life on earth you alone are our help, our comfort, and our strength. Amen”
When we realize our help indeed comes from the Lord, then we can relax in the knowledge that will be with us through circumstances. It is easy to fret when the world seems to be crashing in on us. Sometimes we even forget to cry out to God.

When we do cry out to God. He will answer our cry. He will comfort and sustain us. When take encouragement from God, then we can encourage others. We can remind others that God is on the throne and He is still in control.

Maranatha,

Betty

Happy Thursday,

None of us knows what tomorrow holds. Health issues and accidents can sneak out of nowhere. We try to be strong but moments of weakness and tears can overcome us at times.

This is when we have to lean on God and those who love us. For those of us who are strongly independent, this can be humbling and hard. Yet, we must recognize how blessed we are to have God, family, and great friends.

We all need God and those who care for us. Instead of feeling sorry for ourselves, may God help us to count our blessings.

Maranatha,

Betty

Blessed Sunday,

The Election

. God was merciful to America and we are grateful. Yet, this does not diminish our need for guidance and support from our Heavenly Father. Only God knows the future.

We need not fear the future when we put our complete trust in God. Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your ownunderstanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

When we trust God completely then we do not need to fret and worry. Our Heavenly Father will fill us with peace. Be content in our circumstances and God will bless us.

May God bless us and our families.

Maranatha,

Betty

Happy Friday,

“Promise #319:

I will comfort you with My everlasting encouragement.

2 Thessalonians 2:16-17 (WEB)

16 Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father,

who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good hope through grace,

17 comfort your hearts and establish you in every good work and word.

The NIV Bible says 2 Thessalonians 2:16-17 this way... 16 May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, 17 encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word.

God is our eternal encourager. He never stops pouring out His love on us and encouraging us. I love the dictionary.com definition of encouragement:...to inspire with courage, spirit, or confidence.”

We must not go by our feelings. We must trust God, no matter how we are feeling. Feelings come and go. God is forever faithful.

Maranatha,

Betty

Blessed Sunday,

“Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth.”

‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭23‬:‭5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

https://bible.com/bible/1/jer.23.5.KJV

Today, Justice is not always a given. Rich people often buy their way out of going to prison. Killers often get away with their crimes. Yet we are promised that one day God, Himself will judge. Then Jesus will rule over this world and He will judge the guilty.

There is a place for mercy. If we humbly seek forgiveness and turn from our sins God will forgive us. We may pay a price in this life for our sins, but when we stand before God, our sins will be covered by the precious blood of Jesus. We will be judged righteous, because of the righteousness of our Lord and Savior, Jesus.

Seek forgiveness of your sins while there is still time. One day the Age of Grace will end.

Maranatha,

Betty

Isaiah 55:6

New King James Version

6 Seek the Lord while He may be found,
Call upon Him while He is near.

Happy Thursday,

Daily Prayer for December 19
CHRISTOPH FRIEDRICH BLUMHARDT
“When the Lord brought us back to Jerusalem, it was like a dream! How we laughed, how we sang for joy! Then the other nations said about us, "The Lord did great things for them." Indeed he did great things for us; how happy we were! Psalm 126:1–3, TEV
Dear Father in heaven, we hope in you and in your promise, which we hold in our hearts as our most precious possession. Protect us when times grow hard. May your Spirit come. May your Spirit constantly reveal your Word and give your promise to the hearts of many so that they may share in the hope, the faith, and the struggle for the great day. On that day we will be allowed to rejoice, exulting with all people because your salvation comes for the whole world. “Amen

We all go through hard times. It is extra hard when the hard times go on for months and months. Even as we begin to see the light at the end of the tunnel, we can still feel shaky and unsure of ourselves.

We must remember to let go and allow God to work His will through us. When we stop fighting against our circumstances and accept God’s will for our lives we will begin to feel the peace of God.

Pray for those who are suffering this season, that God will give them comfort.

Maranatha,

Betty

Blessed Sunday,

If Only

Most of us have moments when we wonder about decisions we made in the past. Things like if we had stayed home instead of going to a party and meeting Mr. Wrong? What if we had applied ourselves more in School?

The biggest if only, will be with those who died without accepting salvation. They will go over the many times the Holy Spirit convicted them of their sins. They knew the truth but they chose the pleasure of sin over redemption.

Unfortunately, so many hardened their hearts to the point they were no longer able to hear the voice of the Holy Spirit. They will spend eternity separated from God. In a place where there is no light, peace, or love.

While we are still on this earth, let us choose to listen to the Holy Spirit. Allow Him to guide us and lead us into living in righteousness. Choose God’s Will over our selfish desires.

Maranatha,

Betty

1 Peter 2:24

New King James Version

24 who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose [a]stripes you were healed.

Blessed Sunday,

Praise God

Daily Prayer for December 29
CHRISTOPH FRIEDRICH BLUMHARDT
“Praise the Lord. Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever. Psalm 106:1, NIV
Dear Father in heaven, whose might is over all the earth, we thank you for all the love you show us. We also thank you for everything that seems hard, but which you change into help and strength. We want to thank you in life and in death, in joy and in sorrow, for you are the great and mighty God, who calls us to life again and again, who leads us to fuller life. You have given us great love in Jesus Christ, our Savior. He shall always be before our eyes and remain in our hearts. Through him we can cry out in joy, "Abba, dear Father!" Amen.”

God has not promised us a life without problems. Yet, He is with us always. We will find comfort when we offer our Heavenly Father the sacrifice of praise in the midst of every situation and circumstance.

Praise and worship from our hearts bring us peace and joy.

Hebrews 13:15

Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.

Maranatha,

Betty

Goodbye 2024

Tonight, we say goodbye to 2024. This year will be wrapped up. We cannot add or change anything about 2024. Do not grieve over 2024. 2025 will be a new beginning.

Those New Year resolutions we did not keep are past. We can make a new beginning with New Year resolutions for 2025. While most of us are concerned about living healthier, let us be more concerned about our spiritual health.

The results of our spiritual health will affect our eternity. God help us to love Him this year, with all our heart, mind and soul, and to serve Him with a heart of gladness.

Maranatha,

Betty

1 Peter 2:24

  • 1 Peter 2:24 is a Bible verse that says: “He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds, you have been healed.”

James 1:19-20

English Standard Version

Hearing and Doing the Word

19 Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; 20 for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God.

Philippians 4:8-9 ESV

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.

Bring Comfort to the Suffering

Daily Prayer for January 2
CHRISTOPH FRIEDRICH BLUMHARDT
“With this in mind, then, I kneel in prayer to the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth takes its name, that out of the treasures of his glory he may grant you strength and power through his Spirit in your inner being, that through faith Christ may dwell in your hearts in love. Ephesians 3:14–17a, NEB
Lord our God, we have gathered in your sight. We thank you that through your words you have given something of your very self to help us be your disciples, your children, who stand firm in faith and trust throughout our lives, whatever our lot may be. Help us in these times, and when days grow difficult and full of grief, hold your people securely in your hand. Help us to be firmly rooted in faith, however dark it is on earth. You can give us strength and courage; we can do nothing in our human strength. But the power of your Spirit can renew us, make us alert, and fill us with lasting joy. For we are your people, your children, and when held in your hand, we can rejoice in spite of all grief. Amen”

So much loss of life, Lord we need you. We do not understand the hatred that grows in a person’s soul, that makes them kill innocent strangers. Our hearts are broken by the tragedies that are happening around the world. Comfort the families of the lost and comfort and heal the injured.

Maranatha,

Betty

Blessed Sunday,

Choose Who You Will Serve

Matthew 6:24

New International Version

24 “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.

When we become more concerned with a healthy bank account, rather than a healthier spiritual life, we have lost our way. Money is temporary. Unexpected disasters can drain the money we save. When we die we cannot take our money and possessions with us.

Galatians 1:10

New King James Version

10 For do I now persuade men, or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ.

There will come a time in our lives when we will have to choose between pleasing God or man. Remember man is never satisfied. No matter what we do today, tomorrow they will want something else. Works for God are eternal.

John 15:4-8 – “Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away as a branch and dries up; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire and they are burned. If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples.

Make God and pleasing Him our focus. When we do things for others, do it for the glory of God. Worship God through our works. Love others with the love of God. Seek to please God in all our ways.

Maranatha,

Betty

Happy Monday,

Feeling Low

When you have dementia, you have times when you feel like your brain is in a fog. You just do not feel yourself. I am having one of those days.

We all have days when we feel low and not ourselves. This is when we need to seek God and draw close to Him. He will refresh and comfort us. He will strengthen us and give us peace. In Him, we will find joy.

It is important for us to seek God, because during these times we are more vulnerable and the devil knows this. God wants to encourage us. We just need to call out to Him.

Maranatha,

Betty

Matthew 6:33
“But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”

Proverbs 8:17
I love those who love me, and those who seek me diligently find me.

Deuteronomy 4:29
But from there you will seek the Lord your God and you will find him, if you search after him with all your heart and with all your soul.

1 Chronicles 16:11
Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually!

Happy Tuesday,

Talking To The Dead

People pay money to people for them to give messages to their loved ones. Sadly, they are throwing their money away. No living person can talk to the dead.

I do believe if our loved ones are in Heaven we can ask God to tell our loved ones in Heaven we love them. God is not going to broker messages asking questions of our loved ones and returning their answers to us.

We are to live our lives in faith. Which means we must have faith that God is taking care of our Christian brothers and sisters in the Lord. We need not ask the dead about decisions we need to make. Instead, we pray to God and ask Him to guide us.

We do not talk to the dead we talk to a living God, who created us and loves us. We must walk in faith. One day if we are saved, we will walk in sight as we enter into Heaven’s Gates.

Maranatha,

Betty

1 Corinthians 13:12

King James Version

12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

Blessed Sunday,

No shame

Daily Prayer for January 12
CHRISTOPH FRIEDRICH BLUMHARDT
“Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken. Psalm 55:22, NIV
Dear Father in heaven, you let us see and feel your great goodness toward us. Grant us the inner help to be victorious in the Savior, rejoicing to be by his side with faith and loyalty, and with the strength of soul that frees us from all burdens by laying them in your hands. Hear us as together we pray to you. All we ask and long for, all our concerns down to the very smallest, we lay in your hands in the one great request that your name be glorified on earth as it is in heaven. Amen”

There is no shame in needing a special touch from God. All God’s children grow weary and tired. God wants to refresh us. All we have to do is humbly seek Him and ask Him to refresh us.

Seek God every day. Be honest with Him about your needs.

Maranatha,

Betty

Isaiah 41:10

New International Version

10 So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
