    Ephesians 6:1-3
KJV 1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. 2Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise; 3 That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.
YLT 1 The children! obey your parents in the Lord, for this is righteous; 2 honour thy father and mother, 3 which is the first command with a promise, `That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live a long time upon the land.'

These are my thoughts, please share yours.

1 Obeying parents under the Lord is what we are suppose to do, obeying the Lord and doing right always comes first.

2 This is the 5 commandment; it linked service to God with fellowship with each other. Unruly children often times reflect the parents. How children interact with their parents often is how they treat other authority figures.

3 This is the promise, God promises a long life if people honor their parents, there isn’t an age restriction on this.
