Job 42
Then Job answered the Lord and said:
2 “I know that you can do all things,
and that no purpose of yours can be thwarted.
3 ‘Who is this that hides counsel without knowledge?’
Therefore, I have uttered what I did not understand,
things too wonderful for me, which I did not know.
4 ‘Hear, and I will speak;
I will question you, and you make it known to me.’
5 I had heard of you by the hearing of the ear,
but now my eye sees you;
6 therefore I despise myself,
and repent[a] in dust and ashes.”
THE FIRST TIME
One of my favourite songs is the first time by Mercy me. It sort of sums up this passage.
When we meet Job in chapter 1, he seems like a mature believer, but through his suffering, he can have his eyes opened to the true majesty and power of God.
You know, we can know all about God in theory, in head knowledge, but we have to encounter him dynamically and directly.
Could Job of come to this realisation if he hadn't gone through all he had been through, probably not. To teach us and stretch us, God has to put us through the fire, not to hurt us, but to burn off all the dross and unwanted things from our lives.
Job felt like many new believers do, a stunning realisation of God's majesty and power, a freshness and joy that no one could contain.
Look at what it made him do; Come to a realisation that he was nothing and God was everything, come to a place of repentance, an ability to forgive the three loudmouths, his so-called friends.
What did God do?. He gave him twice as much.
May you and I come to not just know God in the hearing of the ear, but may our eyes see the glory, beauty and majesty of God.
Here are the words to the song;
Day after day
I try to explain You
Like I can contain You in so many words
You are the ocean
And I'm on the shoreline
Thinking I know you like You could be learned It's so amazing that You'd ever save me
I thought I knew Your face
I thought I tasted grace
But I had never felt anything close to this
Just when I'd seen it all
New mercy breaks the dawn
With my eyes open wide
It feels like the first time, first time
It feels like the first time, first time
This sums up Job's words and sum up my thoughts, God is so much bigger than me. He is the ocean and I'm on the shoreline.
Job thought he had tasted grace, but he had never come face to face with the living God.
We need to meet with God, not just know Him in theory, but to meet him in person through constant communion and quietness.
May you and I have that deep communion, He desires it, but DO WE?
GOD BLESS YOU

Luke 15
3 So he told them this parable: 4 “What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he has lost one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the open country, and go after the one that is lost, until he finds it? 5 And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. 6 And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and his neighbours, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep that was lost.’ 7 Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.
THE POWER OF ONE
The gospels record many accounts of Jesus preaching and teaching to thousands of people during His ministry on earth. In fact, the word “multitude” occurs 40 times in Matthew's gospel. But His most powerful experiences came when He was ministering to the individual. Consider the following examples:
Nicodemus John 3
Woman at the well John 4
The leprous man Luke 5:12-14
The woman with the issue of blood and Jairus' daughter Luke 8:40-56
The thief on the cross and the centurion at the cross
The early church also reached large crowds, but also touched individuals:
The Crippled Man Acts 3
The Ethiopian Eunuch Acts 8
The Philippian Jailer, Lydia and the Young girl Acts 16
In Luke 15, Jesus teaches us that the lost have value in the kingdom of God. Heaven’s greatest celebration is not over the multitudes who know Christ, but over the one who comes to Him in faith. Do you know of someone who needs to respond to Christ’ gift of salvation? During this pandemic, most people are concerned about getting infected with the Coronavirus; what if the church was just as concerned about people getting to know Christ as the world is about a virus?
Consider this: You would not have come to Christ, if someone hadn't prayed for you and shared the gospel; Not only can you pray for the one, you can share the gospel with them.
My friend Andrew shared the gospel with me at school. I know Andrew saw me as the one. Eventually, I came to Christ at a meeting, but it was his witness and testimony that made such an impression on me. He treated me as the One.
Let's pray and then share the gospel with them and then let the precious Holy Spirit do his work of grace.
How can we reach the world? One sinner at a time
How can we reach China? One sinner at a time
Think of how many souls we could reach if each One of us would take the time to share the Good News with One who is lost. Jesus said, "I have come to seek and save the Lost…”. People call Matthew 28:19-20, the Great Commission. In truth, it's the great co-mission. We are working with God. We are His ambassadors sharing the gospel with a needy world. Teaching the One. 2 Corinthians 5:20-21
Which One will you pray for?
Which One will you share the gospel with?
When the One comes to faith, there is much rejoicing in heaven.
Let’s do our part to make sure that everyone has the opportunity to know the Savior of the world.
God bless you

PSALM 119
13 With my lips have I declared all the judgments of thy mouth.
14 I have rejoiced in the way of thy testimonies, as much as in all riches.
15 I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect unto thy ways.
16 I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word.

ARE YOU AN "I WILL" CHRISTIAN?
Of all the psalms, this one, which is the longest; must be one of the best, and it talks about God's precious word.
We have a bible reading group at church. 43 people are on it, and we have to clock in to read 2 chapters per day. Up to now the highest daily number has been 22. Why don't we have the same attitude that the psalmist had in this beautiful psalm?
Note he says, "I will." He makes a commitment to the Word of God. Someone has testified that only half of Christians read the bible every day. We need to make a commitment to the reading of the Bible.
The devil will put any obstacle in front of you to stop you reading and meditating on scripture, even Christian service.
The Bible is the greatest treasure trove in the world; it is our spiritual food. Don't just read the Bible, meditate on it through the day, let it drip into your spirit. Let it take up residence in your mind, let it encompass your whole being: Colossians 3:16.
You may of heard of this before, we don't know who the author, but I sure agree with him:
The Bible contains . . .
the mind of God,
the state of man,
the way of salvation,
the doom of sinners, and
the happiness of believers.
Its doctrines are holy,
its precepts are binding,
its histories are true, and
its decisions are immutable.
Read it to be wise,
believe it to be safe,
and practice it to be holy.
The Bible contains . . .
light to direct you,
food to support you,
and comfort to cheer you.
It is . . .
the traveler's map,
the pilgrim's staff,
the pilot's compass,
the soldier's sword and
the Christian's charter.
Here too, Heaven is opened — and the gates of Hell are disclosed.
Christ is its grand subject,
our good is its design, and
the glory of God is its end.
The Bible should . . .
fill the memory,
rule the heart
and guide the feet.
Read it slowly, frequently and prayerfully.
The Scripture is . . .
a mine of wealth,
a paradise of glory,
and a river of pleasure!
It . . .
is given to you in life,
will be opened at the judgment,
and be remembered forever.
The Bible . . .
involves the highest responsibility,
rewards the greatest labor, and
will condemn all who trifle with its sacred contents!
Let's all be "I WILL" CHRISTIANS!
Make a daily appointment to dive into the word of God!
God bless you
