2 John 1:9-10
KJV 9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. 10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:
MKJV 9 Everyone transgressing and not abiding in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ, he has both the Father and the Son. 10 If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into your house, nor speak a greeting to him.
These are my thoughts, please share yours.
9 Sin means we are outside His will, we need grace because of our sin but we are to keep moving towards Him, when we sin we turn from it and keep following Him by grace. We can follow after the Lord and be servants of sin, live a sinful lifestyle. This doesn’t mean we cant follow the Lord as sinner because we all are sinners its just we are saved by grace but saying that we who are His will want to turn from sin so that we keep following Him, it means we wont want to sin even though we do.
10 There may have been those teaching at that time and they do today, that sin is ok because Christ forgive it, while Christ forgives sin, this isn’t an excuse for us to look and seek sin out because we should instead be seeking out the Lord and seek to please Him.
