I need some advice?

Hello.

I very much believe in God, and do not doubt him.
Yesterday, I was laying in bed, then all of a sudden, this thought popped up in my head, I asked the devil to make something bad happen, that would get me and my family in trouble. I'm worried that he will do this, I don't want this to happen.

I am worried that I might be possessed, or something like that? What can I do?:( I don't want to go to hell, or prison.

Others here will have better advice but the first question that popped into my head is why would you ask such a question? Why would you wish harm on you and your family? Ask yourself that question.

The only reason I can think of is I do have OCD, once I get thoughts into my head they wont go away.

We all have battles with our thoughts, its part of the war on sin. Look into your heart and see if its there as well. Remember that sin can also be in our hearts, that's when it gets evil in my opinion. Thoughts can go in and quickly out, but once in the heart they linger. Pray to God in the name of His son Jesus is my best advice.

Now speaking of being possessed by a demon, I would say not. Only because in the Bible I cannot specifically recall a person that was possessed that sought help of being healed on their own, I may be wrong in my memory. It was always someone else that brought the possessed person to Jesus or someone else would notice them.

I also think of people I know or have seen that might be???... they never seek for help, they are too deep to question or think of possession. Again??? I don't know. I knew a lady who had to of been and had a casual approach, didn't really show torment but definately had something going on.

You know the enemy will take our weaknesses , and it may be we are fearful or too sensitive and he can keep us bound up in chains. God knows your heart , he knows that these thoughts distress you , you can give them over to him and walk away. Someone whom wants to do harm to their family isnt distressed by the thought of it. We are messed up beings. One part of us pushing to evil and if a Christian another pushing away. What a balancing act.

Satan is very powerful indeed. Where do you think that thought came from to begin with? I believe that your opening doors that you really don't want any part of.
Jesus didn't die and rise so that we would pray to the devil.
Just ask Jesus to come into your life, and you won't want to think those thoughts.

We all have to weigh out what we choose. As sinners we chose to stay lost or be saved. Choice made.

With Satan he was created perfect, so his choice was to abandon that state or remain in it. Choice made.

Pride is a powerful thing.

Depends on what type you think is more important. Take it lightly and don't think negative. If you think negative than you will have always fear in you mind that this will happen.

Aaron you are not possessed just dealing with the carnality that's in mankind, see in Romans chapters 6, 7, 8, the carnal mind is a enmity against God, that's the nature we were all born with there is a battle with our old thoughts and new thoughts towards God, everytime you wish to serve the Lord that old nature we were born with will peak it's head up, that's all, not possess at all..
