Yep ... She's Canadian!

Roy Orbison and Friends - Black and White Night ... One of the best concerts ever taped. The man is amazingly unique vocally. Don't think anyone can match him. Fortunately this concert is on PBS about once a month. I always watch it and sit there mesmerized. If you have a DVD drive in your computer and a good pair of headphones ... well it just doesn't get any better. :D

Willy i`m going to check at walmart next trip there, they may have it too.
Jessie i`m a big fan of a lot of old rock bands too, i`m just real impressed with a few of the greats that had very unique styles and voices.
There were some great singers in the past.

... they usually have a copy. :):

I grew up in the sixties ... wasn't saved till 76 ... so all the rock n roll and all that went with it was my life. I still listen to some of it but it is with a different mindset ... i.e. ... not stoned and drunk. :D

... anybody like bluegrass ... ?

... helped a friend put in a home theater system six or so years ago. Killer system. THX 2 small room, 60" Sony screen. Wanted to pick up a disc to demo it for him. He was into bluegrass so I grabbed Alison Krauss and Union Station live 2004. I hadn't heard it and didn't even know who she was.
Well we tuned in the sound system and put in the disc and sat there for two hours grinning at each other. He invited his neighbors over and they just sat there and wouldn't let anyone talk while the concert was on. One guy drove 130 miles to Seattle to get a copy.

... voice of an Angel ... and there is actually some Christian content to her music. ... and 26 grammys

Here's an old one Wind that always amazed me ... from 1969. John Fahey playing "In Christ There is no East or West." Leo Kottke covered it later in the early 70's. Not vocal but pretty good pickin' if you wait for it.

... Saw CCR up here around that time. Saw the Yardbirds the year before they formed Led Zeppelin. Jimmie page had just discovered the wah wah peddle. My right ear is still out of whack from that one. The Kinks, Frank Zappa, Beautiful Day backed him up. Cream you didn't have to go inside they were loud. The Who before they were big. Broke up all there equipment at the end of the show. Alice Cooper. The Beach Boys earlier. Good Vibrations and long hair.

... long time ago it seems ...

Yep. Big Choir just voices works pretty well!! Is there any Christian content on CD out there? I've got some old records of that type of music. Maybe I should transfer it into digital.

Solo as in Pavarotti, Sarah Brightman, Andrea Bocelli ...??

Thats a pretty good song.

I listened to lots of Andy's guitar solo's and they are really good.

I also like to listen to Mexican guitar solo's when I'm in the mood.

That girl Connie sure has a gift. It touches you so deep where you just want to cry. So raw, natural and not over done.

A lot of bands I like because they are bands. Its like the singer needs the band. Sometimes I like certain singers because of the words or melody.

I would love to have an acoustic guitar for my alone time hobby. I could probably find a cheap one on Craigslist, but not in the budget right now :D

Can you imagine what heaven sounds like?

Here are some of my other favorite Christian songs:

Strength Will Rise As We Wait Upon the Lord
Holy Holy Holy
Your Name
All the Earth Will Sing Your Praises
God of Wonders
Above All
Blessed Be Your Name
How Great is Our God
--------
Just to name a few. So many cover these songs, so depending on your taste I am sure you can find one you like. I just love the words!

Amazing Grace ... the words have power ... if one can understand that grace can cause Godly fear, then they are starting to see how the Spirit works.

The tune is Nigerian from what I read, possibly heard by John Newton when he worked on the slave ships.

Being Scottish the tune gets my attention when played on the bag-pipes, and I get this craving for Haggis.
