I think I already know what everyones response will be to this but maybe I'm wrong.

The cheerful giver.

God says to give because it comes from your heart. What if all you want to do is give.... anonymously of course. What if your wish is to be the woman who puts in all she has.

What if thats where you found pure joy here on earth is to be able to give something. What if when you can't give it breaks your heart.

What if when you give it makes your life negative in some way, maybe not just yours but those around you.

Your dream here on earth would be to be rich, only so you could give to people all day long. Not an obbsession with things but an obbession with seeing others joyful.

Sick I know; but stuff makes the world joyful.

O.K. lets change it up.

Now we as Christians know that stuff will rot. True happiness and true treasure is nothing of this earth but only Jesus himself is a gift. To bring forth His word as a thing to give.

Here in America we are so blessed and spoiled with freedom, Bibles are in easy reach to almost anyone. Most have heard Gods word and heard of Jesus at one time or another, that's why so many reject the gift of His Word because they think they already know because they have heard the basics and know a commandment or two.

So when you try to give this gift through speech or offer whatever, many disapprove because they all think they already know.

So for a Christian that wants to so badly give... something... to see joy spread upon faces, to hear shouts of joy, how do we do this? How do we do this without people around us thinking we're going to get scammed or have to argue and justify why you so badly want to give? How do we give Gods word as a gift? Establish relationships and trust first yeah, but, how can we do this with strangers?

Sometimes I think most missionaries go to other countries because its easier. We are so spoiled in America.

I hope I make sense.

its good to give, scripture says its more blessed to give than recieve,
but...

we have to use wisdom in in, giving I think can become a idol as well as anything else if misused, underdone or overdone is'nt good.
we must have godly wisdom...

also, I think far too many think they know of God when they really dont know squat.
and many dont and havent heard the gospel. the genuine simple gospel.

instead they have a mix of a combination of things. which make no sense..

oh yes, there is a time and place for all things.

pray that the hearts of those you are to talk to about the gospel are prepared to receive it.

saving souls is the best..... that cant be taken away and lasts forever!

its hard when one wants to do and just cant.

Eager willingness to give, even to your enemies is a true sign of a pure saved heart IMO.
After the gift is given it`s none of our business what the person does with it that`s between them and God.
I think we should keep on giving as long as there are no alternative reasons for doing so like making yourself look good.
A person can give to much and be foolish I guess but the smile on the recipients face makes it all worth it.:yowza:

For some the most valuable gift is company, encouragement, a sense of purpose and belonging and other non tangibles that you cannot put a price tag on.

For others a coat, meal or a basic necessity of life.

Those that demand material gain are poor receivers. They render the giving futile.

Of course making a loved one or friend happy is marvelous. But it is their joy in your caring that makes it the real happiness for them, not the gift itself. Or it should be.

what does one do when you run into those who act angry when you offer them something? I've seen mostly wemon with this problem.
my mil has that attitude really bad.
it could be anything from extra food to something else really simple.
