hello all,
i want to start by saying hello to all, and I am glad to have stumbled onto your website. My name is Amanda, and like alot of others I am very confused about everything there is to know about understanding the bible and god himself. I would love to chat and get to know others who maybe would like to help me understand some of the things I am going though. For some reason the past 2 weeks I feel god is trying to open my eyes to something. I find myself lying in bed cuddle my infant son, and worry about the time that I might have left on earth to spend with him. Does this make me a selfish person? I am worried about the coming of christ, but most of all I find myself worrying about the time left with my son, or getting to love my other two baby boys that are due in July. I feel like I worry more and more because I know that I am not ready for that day. I don't go to chruch, and I don't ready my bible like I should. I also worry about my husband when we first met he was a full atheist, but since we have been married I since he is beginning to come around even offering to go to chruch with me when I am ready. I am ready for a change..... i am ready to turn my life around....
Thanks to all for listening
Amanda

Pleased to make your aquaintance Atruluck (Amanda). It sounds as though you are going through a time of great soul searching. I think it happens to all of us at some point in our lives. We start thinking about the future and about life and what it is all about. I'm sure you will benefit from the fellowship here.
all the best...

Hi Amanda,
Does this verse make sense to you?
John 3:16
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

… nice to meet you Amanda. … twins in July? … well done!!
--meaning as long as I believe in the lord I will have everlasting life with my children....
… that’s a fair answer … lets dig a little deeper and see if there is more here.
John 3:16
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” … please take the time to have a prayer and ask God to help you understand what He is saying to you in His written word … I can only lead you through it … God will make it real to you if you ask Him.
… let’s break the verse into three parts … the first part is something God did … the second part is an invitation to believe in God's Son … and the third part is what is received as a result of believing.
… in the first part of the verse God acts … out of love …“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son”
… do you have any thoughts on what is meant by the words, “He gave”?
… it’s O.K. if you don’t … it took God 25 years to make it real to me …

no can you explain......
Sometimes we get ourselves into situations that we cannot get out of on our own and we need someone who is more capable to help us. That is where each of us stands in relationship to God.
God says that every one of us is a rebel and that we have done whatever we can get away with, to get what we think we want, with little regard for other people, the planet and especially for God Himself.
God defines this as lawlessness or “sin” and in His written Word, it only takes us three chapters of the first book to get kicked out of paradise and head off on our own blaming other people … and God … for our problems.
As a result of what we did … and still do … we are separated from God.
God says that we are “dead” spiritually because of sin, and will eventually die physically.
... but ...
God, because He loves each of us has provided a way back to Him.
… here’s a verse that develops the thought …
1 John 4:10
This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.... so the thought would be "God gave" His only begotten Son ... as an atoning sacrifice for our sins ... ?
Amanda ... it's normal to have a thousand questions or to think this is crazy or to totally accept it. It is a (real) battle ... within oneself ... only God can make it real ... and must be included ... please pray about it ... there will be a multitude of distractions ...
... take your time ... ask any questions ... or move on to what "believe" means ...
