Why did God stop it?
Would it have produced a one world government?

Is the Internet the new 'tower' with all the languages reunited?

Because they were becoming arrogant and did not obey to command to populate the earth.

They were staying in one locale under one government and one thinking.

God saw that if they were left that way they would quickly become unsalvagable, so he dispersed them.

The Internet is a tool. Babel was Man's attempt to reach Heaven on his own.
