I live in Oregon so it won't have much of an impact on me. We are idiot-progressive up here in the pacific northwest. :aah:

I've come to the conclusion that if the government can ensure it's integrity I actually think Obama's health care plan will be a great success. The problems Core mentioned about why it started failing for Canada, don't have to happen to us. And God bless helping millions of poor people get care. I care more about health then money I guess. You know socialism and communism are both based on beautiful ideals. They've just had key problems with key people in history to blame. You should read the book 'Animal Farm' :) Plus all the republicans on the news just say 'this wont work' with no feeling or reason behind it. Talk about a band whagon. We can always fix or go back if this doesn't work. But if it does, good job trying first.

Know what people? Socialism is kind of like a swimming pool. Cool at first, but once you are in it get's rather comfortable.
It is the way to go.

No. It is the government taking over our lives.
Has never worked and will never work.

Socialism is kind of like moving back in with your parents. A way of giving up our personal responsibility (and freedom) for the luxury of being taken care of. It is about as effective too

Yes, that is socialism.
No, Obama's health care plan is not socialist.
If you know exactly what the bill says and why it 'could' be called 'socialist' i'd both like to hear it, or why it's a big enough issue to matter. I just see many more people will health care they need, awesome. Is republican skepticism really more important then people's health? No.

Read the language.
It says the government will have a say in procedures.
Yea, they try to claim it only means advisory or knowledge contribution, but that is not what the language says. It says a say.
That is socialism.
Supposedly one of the facets of the porkulus plan is setting up a federal database of healthcare information.
. . . the DoD can't even keep their computer systems secure.

Just like the PATRIOT (American Term) Act claims to be off shore only. By the way I just watched Eagle Eye. It's surely from a republican viewpoint but made a genius quote: "Sometimes the laws placed to protect our liberty, are a crime to liberty itself."
Supposedly one of the facets of the porkulus plan is setting up a federal database of healthcare information.
That would not be cool in my book. I suppose they can already get this information anyway...
ps:
I guess I still only see hear-say viewpoints about the health care plan. Unless you can link me to direct quotes of what the bill really says, and not just some news sites about speculators oppinion, I see no reason why it won't work. I don't even think it's the thing you're all making it out to be, drama queens!
