Just my opinion but many are called and reject, so only few are actually chosen, but chosen just the same.

Study the NT literally. It defines it pretty clearly.

Born-again means:


You know you cannot save yourself and are doomed on your own.
You know Christ is God incarnate.
You know he died for you.
You know he must save you.
You sincerely asked him to save you.
You put your love and trust in Christ.

It is not a complex formula. Salvation is by grace through faith in Christ. The rest is growth.
