its been a long time since i visited this site lol. From my beliefs yes it is true. Cause it was never really our effort, but God's effort that we're saved. So yeah. But the fact that we sin or still struggle with sin is not proof that we are not saved. The life we live now, i believe is to prepare us, to make us grow to be ready for the next.
James;2~4 2Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. 4Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
This life is a journey of growth. When we become christians its not like we're suddenly free of sin, but rather, we realise that we have to work to be like Christ, sin hating. And through life He will guide us to that completion.
What they said about believing in our actions to prove that we';re saved i really strongly support. Its is not us to boast of anything, but rather, all glory goes to God

Hosea 4
The Charge Against Israel
1 Hear the word of the LORD, you Israelites,
because the LORD has a charge to bring
against you who live in the land:
"There is no faithfulness, no love,
no acknowledgment of God in the land. 2 There is only cursing, [a (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=hosea%204&version=31#fen-NIV-22136a)] lying and murder,
stealing and adultery;
they break all bounds,
and bloodshed follows bloodshed.
3 Because of this the land mourns,
and all who live in it waste away;
the beasts of the field and the birds of the air
and the fish of the sea are dying.
4 "But let no man bring a charge,
let no man accuse another,
for your people are like those
who bring charges against a priest.
5 You stumble day and night,
and the prophets stumble with you.
So I will destroy your mother-
[B] 6 my people are destroyed from lack of knowledge.
"Because you have rejected knowledge,
I also reject you as my priests;
because you have ignored the law of your God,
I also will ignore your children.
7 The more the priests increased,
the more they sinned against me;
they exchanged [c (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=hosea%204&version=31#fen-NIV-22141c)] their [d (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=hosea%204&version=31#fen-NIV-22141d)] Glory for something disgraceful.
8 They feed on the sins of my people
and relish their wickedness.
9 And it will be: Like people, like priests.
I will punish both of them for their ways
and repay them for their deeds.
10 "They will eat but not have enough;
they will engage in prostitution but not increase,
because they have deserted the LORD
to give themselves 11 to prostitution,
to old wine and new,
which take away the understanding 12 of my people.
They consult a wooden idol
and are answered by a stick of wood.
A spirit of prostitution leads them astray;
they are unfaithful to their God.
13 They sacrifice on the mountaintops
and burn offerings on the hills,
under oak, poplar and terebinth,
where the shade is pleasant.
Therefore your daughters turn to prostitution
and your daughters-in-law to adultery.
14 "I will not punish your daughters
when they turn to prostitution,
nor your daughters-in-law
when they commit adultery,
because the men themselves consort with harlots
and sacrifice with shrine prostitutes—
a people without understanding will come to ruin!
15 "Though you commit adultery, O Israel,
let not Judah become guilty.
"Do not go to Gilgal;
do not go up to Beth Aven. [e (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=hosea%204&version=31#fen-NIV-22149e)]
And do not swear, 'As surely as the LORD lives!'
16 The Israelites are stubborn,
like a stubborn heifer.
How then can the LORD pasture them
like lambs in a meadow?
17 Ephraim is joined to idols;
leave him alone!
18 Even when their drinks are gone,
they continue their prostitution;
their rulers dearly love shameful ways.
19 A whirlwind will sweep them away,
and their sacrifices will bring them shame.
People do not study. They listen to false teachers and preachers with itching ears to hear what they want, not what they need.
So the are void of understanding and knowledge. Therefore they starve.

Core I am not sure what it is you are trying to tell me with that, but I do read and study , please be patient with me I have gotten myself into a bit of a state lately.
I posted this about 1 minute after reading it , now that I have calmed down , I realize there is very little truth in what that guy said to the other. We have a choice to believe or not to , or, the whole thing would make no sense . And God would be Cruel, and his promises to us would not be true, and why make promises at all? I have been a believer for about 3 years so I still get blown around by all the doctrine it is very confusing sometimes.. It seems like you can take anything and make it fit. Im not learned enough, I have just started to use the original Hebrew and greek to clarify certain things.
My Husband told me no more internet unless Im talking to you guys , that he will look things up for me , if need be.
But..I would appreciate it if you have time to go through it in a little more detail.
Thanks

I am just trying to say people at large are not studying and do not understand. They depend on the teachers and preachers, as if they are the Bible.
When those people, as with the OT issues, have agendas and contrary belief systems, of their own, God gets lost and people are scared, confused, misled and hit with all kinds of other issues and other things.
Those who study, literally and want the truth, not seeking what they want to hear, know if they are saved or not. They understand where the truth is and how it relates to them.
They get stronger and move beyond the fear and doubting.
But, look around. How man do that and how many having itching ears and look to the secular world for their peace and security?
It affects all of us. Even those of us who do study, etc, get caught in spillage. We live around their rejections, doubts and accusations against us that really are serving to prop up them by dragging us down.
It is the chaos of the end times, meaning taking issues already and always here, but multiplying them many fold.
As with the premise of this article, being Christian and falling into error. There are many groups out there teaching if a Christian you will not because you cannot fall into error.
That is a false claim that puts a false burden on those born-again but not studied or understanding enough to rightly divide the issues at hand.
Hope that helps.
