What does respect your parents mean when your an adult yourself? I mean your still allowed to have feelings and tell them while respecting at the same time right?

It means that you acknowledge that they have the title of being your mother and father.
It doesnt mean that they are allowed to treat you like a child if you are a responsible adult. They are not respecting you if they do that. It doesnt mean that we just let things slide if they are doing things that are wrong or acting inappropriately. As adults we treat them as adults, but we honor them as our parents.

I'm so thankful that I have parents that are easy to honor and respect. Not everyone can say that. My mother grew up in a house where sometimes you had to fight to survive. Her brother broke her dad's jaw, but ya know what, Grandpa was an abusive, perverted drunk who didn't make it easy for his kids to respect and honor him. What do you do when your dad comes at you with both fists? What do you do when you're being sexually abused? There was much heartache in that house, and it still effects my mother to this day.
Nevertheless, whenever his kids were grown, even after all of that, they respected him as their dad, and though I know they carried the pain of it all in their heart, they still showed him respect.
Grandpa died quite young, at the age of fifty. The son who broke his jaw died at the age of 44. Neither one of them were saved, as far as I know. That's the most heart breaking thing of all.
