How in the world does the belief of God ever get through to someone who believes that the belief of any god or religion is nothing more than tapping into something deep within the conscience?

Ironic things, miracles or changing of a person once they find God is irrelevant to them as having anything to do with God. They believe that people look for something just because we don't know answers to everything to help bring them peace i.e. meditation also makes me think of Budism when I hear this person talk.

They believe a god does exist but they don't believe a single person or religion on earth has it right. They act like prayer is something we do to tap into ourselves, they believe its all within. They don't believe God is personal with people. They said they have once believed and now understand why they believed but believe it was just something they had invented within themselves.

So how do we get through to a person like this? Do we just sit back and pray. This person believes they might of once or twice felt something but disregard it because its no proof to them since they say that all in any religion believe they felt something with their god. :aah:

Can I also say that this person says they are afraid to talk to Christians to tell them how they think and feel because they think it will make Christians think the same way and take away their religion. This person says they have felt stuff long ago with God before, I believe maybe was the HS since they said they once believed, but when I talk of the HS and nothing can take away the fact that God is true and living they again disregard it.

Tough situation, if it`s a stranger dust the dust off your shoes and move on. If it`s someone you love then it`s a whole different story, keep talking, let them want what you have by the joy God brings to your life.

Yeah. That's it. Don't bother. They have already closed that door. There isn't anything much you can do. When and if they should reopen that door, then resume dialogue.

all the best...

Yup they already shut the door basically. Only because they said there isn't anything else we could talk about and thats about it. I agree with them. We are both very open, calm and understanding and both good listeners; so nothing wrong with communication. When I talk to them about God (always comes up unexpectantly) I feel this movement within me as if there is something that is trying so hard and deeply hurt.... none other than God trying to work through me, I feel it. Yup its a loved one. Hmm you tell someone how much you love them and they don't believe you or believe you exist, yeah that is a big hurt. They might not believe but at least they understand where I am coming from.

Best with these types to keep things simple. Get them to answer simple basic questions. Like how do they know god exists, what it their proof since they claim humans are so fallible how do they know their own feelings about their own beliefs in God are reliable?

We have the bible. They have nothing.

So how do we get through to a person like this? Do we just sit back and pray. This person believes they might of once or twice felt something but disregard it because its no proof to them since they say that all in any religion believe they felt something with their god. :aah:

Pray until God moves you to act. The bible is the source for truth. The sources for all other religions cannot compete with the bible. Its not about feelings, feelings will lead you astray.

Can I also say that this person says they are afraid to talk to Christians to tell them how they think and feel because they think it will make Christians think the same way and take away their religion. Really? This person thinks they are so convincing that they will lead Christians astray? Either this person has never spoken to a true Christian or is afraid to confront the real truth of God and using it as an excuse.

If they will not believe in the prophets or the bible then they are lost. The bible is the container of truth. With these types you have to stick to the bible and know it. Your own feelings and experiences are not going to convince them. They want evidence and its in the bible. If they reject it completely then they are done.

Good points! It does seem as done; since they themselves have read the bible and know what it says.

Hmm have they rejected and angered God? Would God have mercy on this person because immediate family members believe, know and love God? Does God have his hand raised but waits because it would severely effect His followers in this guys immediate family? Kinda like what God did for generations of Davids family who were kings after David. God had mercy on them to a certain level even though they rejected and did so much evil; God said He was only not doing this or that because of His servant David and the promises made. Would this be a similar situation?

sounds like a form of hinduism.

this all is a illusion thing, I have seen create this kindof mindset.

all generalized not specifics... like God is real, a being in His own right ect.
eventually they clump people like that too.

because God is very real. a entity in himself has his own thoughts, emotions, ect.
not some cosmic force out there to "tap" into.

and they gave good advice to you!
