This man's god-complex knows no bounds. Check this out.

DENVER (Reuters) - Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama's big speech on Thursday night will be delivered from an elaborate columned stage resembling a miniature Greek temple.

Watch Charlie Gibson, Diane Sawyer and George Stephanopoulos at the Democratic Convention TONIGHT at 10 p.m. ET on ABC

The stage, similar to structures used for rock concerts, has been set up at the 50-yard-line, the midpoint of Invesco Field, the stadium where the Denver Broncos' National Football League team plays.

Some 80,000 supporters will see Obama appear from between plywood columns painted off-white, reminiscent of Washington's Capitol building or even the White House, to accept the party's nomination for president.
He will stride out to a raised platform to a podium that can be raised from beneath the floor.

The show should provide a striking image for the millions of Americans watching on television as Obama delivers a speech accepting the Democratic presidential nomination.

O SHOW A GREEK DRAMA

(I wonder if they will have dry ice on hand to magnify the moment ... .)

DENVER - Barack Obama's big speech tomorrow night will be delivered from an elaborate columned stage fit for a Greek god - or a future president.

The speech will be delivered from a stage resembling a miniature Greek temple set up at the 50 yard line at Invesco Field, the stadium where the Denver Broncos play.

Some 80,000 supporters will see Obama appear from between plywood columns painted off-white, reminiscent of the Capitol building or even the White House, to accept the party's nomination.

He will stride out to a raised platform to a podium that can be lifted from beneath the floor.

The show should provide a striking image for the millions of Americans watching on television as Obama delivers a speech accepting the Democratic presidential nomination.

He will make history as the first black presidential candidate to accept a major party's nomination.

...

(Maybe this is who he is trying to copy ... ?)

Obama was taking a page from the book of John F. Kennedy in 1960, when the future president delivered his acceptance speech to 80,000 people in the LA Coliseum.

...

Once Obama speaks, confetti will rain down and fireworks will be launched from locations around the stadium wall.

Democratic convention organizers said the theme for the evening is "Change We Can Believe In," which has been a consistent message of Obama's presidential quest.

Obama’s Invesco Speech Fuels Celebrity Label

by FOXNews.com
Wednesday, August 27, 2008

Out of the Senate and into . . . the Parthenon?

Barack Obama has already invited a new wave of Republican criticism that the White House isn’t big enough for his ego with his plans to accept the Democratic nomination Thursday at Invesco Field at Mile High.

The field where the Denver Broncos play and where Obama will address a crowd of more than 70,000 people is now completely covered by a circular seating arrangement. And in the center, where Obama will be standing, is what appears to be a large structure that resembles the ancient Greek temple of the goddess Athena. Or maybe just the U.S. Capitol.

Obama’s team says the event, which will require the apparatus of the Democratic National Convention to move from the Denver Pepsi Center, is meant to open the doors of the otherwise exclusive convention to the public.

But the grandiose set-up fueled criticism from John McCain’s campaign that Obama is an inflated celebrity.

The campaign sent around a snarky memo Wednesday advising the press of proper attire at “The Temple of Obama,” or “The Barackopolis.”

The memo recommended a variety of togas, urging reporters to “observe a level of decency and decorum demanded by the import of the moment of the presence of The One.”

McCain spokesman Tucker Bounds told FOXNews.com the arena is “stagecraft” intended to highlight his persona.

“It’s an interesting choice — certainly not the type of town-hall meeting John McCain has participated in across the country. I wouldn’t see that fitting with our campaign, but then again our candidate doesn’t enjoy the spotlight of fame quite like Obama,” he said.

Obama strategist David Axelrod said he doesn’t think the taunt “warrants a response.” But he gave one anyway.

Boy he sure is using up all that money isn't he? Too bad people are more about the fancy show than the realities. They would rather be entertained than find out facts and question and gain some knowledge. Its a part of Americas laziness and materialistic ways. Let me know how it goes. I have to shower and get going to bed.

Its all a show now.

People are caught up in the spectacle of Obama's show. There is nothing underneath the frills that is substantial. Its like a big concert for him and everyone. It turns my stomach. Prepped speeches and fake personalities on big fluffy stage.

I guarantee you wont see near as much air time or hype for the Republican convention. The media wont allow it.
