Exodus

I believe it was Exodus where God had many things made for Him and one of those things being the ark (and table, tabernacle ect..) Now He said He was going to give a Testimony (that word was capitalized) to place inside the ark. Where is the Testimony in scripture, what was it or what did it say?

Exodus 34:28,29

Moses was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights without eating bread or drinking water. And he wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant—the Ten Commandments.

When Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the two tablets of the Testimony in his hands, he was not aware that his face was radiant because he had spoken with the Lord.

Why was the Testimony placed inside the Ark, under the Mercy-Seat?
