Someone has recently come to me with all sorts of reasons why they used to believe and no longer do. This reminds me of where the seed was sown. But besides that they are convinced that if God speaks of being jealous that jealousy is an imperfection and therefore He can't be our God.

O.k. I don't really know what to say to this person other than, but haven't said anything yet, that God made us for Him, because of Adam and Eve He decided to let us choose. Now God loves us very much and if we turn and reject Him, isn't it not justifiable for Him to be jealous? If He gives us everything we need and more or is offered and one doesn't take it or throws it in His face; isn't that not justifiable for Him to upraise His hand. God loves us and if we give our love to another, say an idol or something, than He will be jealous and it is justified. Wouldn't you be jealous, wouldn't it break your heart if your boyfriend cheated on you or left you for another after you have given him your heart.

What do you have to add or change to this? People don't understand perfection. They think perfection means you just sit there and repeatably get spit in the face with a smile on your face. Should I also state the idol commandment?

I think many do not know what jealous fully means. At least in an older usage.

You have the right concept of God's jealousy.

Remember that God created us in HIS image. Meaning that He has all the same emotions we do. The thing is that God knows how to deal with them properly. We dont. Our emotions get the best of us.

Freewill means that jealousy has to be a part of the emotion of love itself. Otherwise God is just a goofy fool loving everything and everyone and never getting jealous. His love would be meaningless since there is no consequence for straying.

Real love means you do anything to keep it. God went to the cross to keep that love alive.

Amen, and i am reminded of Jesus Going to Retrieve the lamb
that strayed away from the flock, proving once again that
Real love means you do anything to keep it, which includes
Going after those you love, as He is Apt to Do for us!

Thank You, Precious Lord Jesus!!
