I built this wood lathe years ago but it was run with an electric motor.
I converted it to a spring pole lathe of sorts, there were many different designs.

Have to ask. Why not still electric?

If ya look close ya can see a electric motor lower left side, but what if they shut the power off. I like to collect or make as many man powered things as i can, though i hope to not be here if things get that rough.

Ya can make bowls, chair legs, all sorts of stuff. :nod:

I bet you could make some beautiful things with that and sell them. Or for family for gifts. That is a neat idea! Good for a back up plan too!

There could be a VERY LONNNNG line of customers to your
property, which will eventually get the attention of the
authorities, who will send choppers and .... Hmmmm.
Ya might wanna think about digging a tunnel. lol

i wish you the best, Bro. They actually used
lathes back in medieval times.

The spring pole lathe is a very early design, and as far as people showing up they would do the same thing if ya won a million bucks.:(

Got that right ITW, I'll be calling on you to make drum sticks for me, if all the worlds electricity disappears! LOL
