We walked around some but I spent most of the time in the Convention Center doing meetings. Pic attached. Used the ferry to get over and back for three days. Not real fun.

Savannah is a tourist and port town, doing cargo shipping.

In some of the pics those industrial buildings, tugs and such are part of the port.

Here is some info.

Port (http://www.gaports.com/)

Traffic is terrible and tons of people during tourist season. A lot of renovation in the historic areas. A lot of the surrounding homes and such are less than impressive. A lot of poor in the area, like many tourist areas.

Thanks for the info and pics Core. A lot of neat looking historic buildings. I found it interesting Girl Scouts originated there. Temps not too bad, maybe average or so. They said June is the rainiest month. Did it rain while you were there? The info. I was looking at did show a big percent below poverty. We almost moved to Georgia instead of Florida awhile back when we moved. We were looking at Carolina N and S too. I forget where but there is one coastal beach in the U.S. that still lets wild horses run free and they are protected. Thats neat! Thanks for sharing!

It rained one afternoon, but since I was in an auditorium it didn't matter.

Then it rained one evening when we went out to eat, so that did matter. But with an umbrella, staying on the drier sides of buildings and using trees we were fine.
