I was reading in OT. I have a few maps in my bible. But I can't find Bethel. Where is it next to; maybe I missed it but I keep looking.

Here is a map (http://www.bible-history.com/geography/ancient-israel/bethel.html). Find Judea and look to the right for Jerusalem and then up to Bethel.

Looking at the maps in my bible and the one you gave me here I cannot find Zion. Where is that located? Can you give me a generalization of Zion too so maybe I can better understand the land?

Zion has three meanings as regards the land of Israel:
1. Zion is an actual hill just outside of ancient Jerusalem, now in Jerusalem.
2. Zion is Jerusalem.
3. Zion is the land of Jerusalem, thus all of Israel.
So, historically it first was the actual hill where a fortress prior to Israel stood, then became the term used for the hill and Jerusalem combined and then all of the country attached to Jerusalem.
