I went to a new church today and it seemed good but the worship service was much different than any church I have ever been too. From what I understand is this church doesn't like denominations it likes to consider Gods church as Gods church as the pastor preached today, so it is with unity and not with separation like I see other denominations being. I researched this denomination and it looks like Church of the Nazarene combines these denominations; Wesley, Evangelical, Methodist and Protestant. They made it clear in the Wiki article that they are much different than the Protestant church because they claim that the HS empowers them to be constantly obedient to Him. They seem to focus on missionaries, holiness and sanctification.

So before I go to this church again and get more involved I need some wisdom from you guys on this. I want to double make sure they are going by what is said in Gods Word and not twisting anything.

Again the service was very different.

Nazarenes? I will quote from their doctrine.
We believe that believers are to be sanctified wholly, subsequent to regeneration, through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
This means one does not sin anymore. Which is not Biblical.

So, if you sin, you backslide or are not saved.

Paul said he tried hard but the flesh caused him to sin daily. That is our reality.

I have not known a Nazarene for over 20 years. Not a huge denomination.

I will have to keep on my search than for a new church. Something about it seemed way off when I first entered the church all the way until I left and what ever it is (probably what you mentioned above) is still bugging me. I thank you for your knowledge of the doctrine :) ! Shoot I sin every day and I know I am saved. My sins are nothing big to a nonbeleiver but I know it goes against the teachings of God. I will always try my hardest but will never reach perfection because it is impossible! If these people are preaching perfection than they are way off. The bible in the NT speaks of those who are blinded because they think they are perfect.

I have a feeling I might not find a good church. The church I am looking for I'm afraid does not exist of this earth; but I have to find some where decent to worship with others in harmony. My soul craves to worship with others and I cannot possibly ignore something to do so. I CAN'T STAND THESE DENOMINATIONS! I am frustrated and those Christians that don't feel the same way I do I feel they are ignoring something thats very very important; Gods teaching as a whole!

You are in good standing on the struggle. Paul was right there with you in his day. :D

Yep. Denominationalism is not good. Plain an simple it is division that Paul tells us never to do because it divides the Body of Christ.

I am glad I am not in this alone:hug: . I will keep on searching because I have to find something for my daughter, because my house is half and half. I found it interesting that through all this separation in these church buildings they still all sing the same songs.
