Please pray for my grandpa. First let me tell you how he was before. He is in his mid 80's and still pretty active. He goes to tractor shows and out with my parents and others all the time. They have a motorcycle they ride and go on vacations with; him and my grandma. Well my grandpa is a diabetic and he has to take 3 insulin shots a day. My grandma really has to keep an eye on him because he always thinks he will be o.k.
Well my grandma was at work on Sunday and came home around 3 o'clock and found him in the shed outside lying on the floor unconscious covered in blood. The ambulance came and got him. They ruled out blood clots in his brain (he had that before) and stroke. They think he had a diabetic stroke and he was all banged up from falling to the floor and than thrashing around. They think he hit his head several times either banging it on the floor repeatably or repeatably trying to get up and falling over and over again. They say because of a diabetic stroke that his brain went without oxygen for some time but they don't know how long...
So at the hospital they had him under sedation to keep his body calm. Every time they tried to bring him out of it his blood pressure would sky rocket; 200 and something over something. He would start thrashing around pretty violently so they had to put straps on his arms and legs and put him back under. His blood sugar is still out of whack and he has gained some infections in his kidney. He has cuts all over and he is very very swollen in many places. His one arm is all black and blue. They cannot do an MRI on his head because he has a pace maker.
Today they traded sedatives and his body reacted different to that one and they were able to get him off of it. But he now has pneumonia and he is unresponsive. He feels pain but he is not opening his eyes talking or squeezing his hand or nothing.
I asked for God to bring peace to his body and He did. But now it's nothing but peace.
They are going to do a CT scan on his head today to look for swelling or anything else that may give them some clues as to why he is not waking up. He is breathing on his own and we can tell he can still feel and he reacts to it.
Please please pray for my grandma and my dad since they are taking this the hardest. This is literally my grandmas other half and I fear for her. 57 years of marriage. My dad is getting pretty angry and he just can't deal with this stuff well at all. I am afraid of him shutting down if things get much worse.
I am also afraid for my grandpas salvation. I try to not think of this especially since it is beyond my control but I wonder. He would claim to know God and His Son but yet he was a pretty cold and prejudice person. I love him, he is my grandpa and this I keep thinking of. I am pretty close to him and my grandma.
I feel a little choked up but I don't know. I see where this is possibly going...
