Hi I was asked by CTZ moderator what Lutherans believe

I could say like so many others we believe every thing in the bible.

That is what some say those whose church body is so liberal and allmost any of its members can hold a different belief from another.

but confessional lutherans are different our beliefs are set in the
nonmovable stone of Gods word . The cap stone that many rejected.


we believe the Word is supreme and Jesus is that living eternal manifestation of the word of God .And That the Holy Ghost only works faith through the Gospel and sacraments.


it would be a sin if I cheapened The word by putting him and his truth's up for debate.


So here is the main teachings of what the Word says and what confessional Lutheran me and others in our church body give a oath into death to believe .

You consider debating God's word to be cheapening it?

Not according to God's Word. It says....

Isaiah 1:18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

What does it mean to reason?

The Word tells us to rebuke and reprove...and how can that be done if there is no conflict in agreement from one to another?

Lack of debate allows error to enter in.

Consider Jude 1:3-4:

3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.

4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

And what does it mean to contend?

1864. epagwnizomai epagonizomai ep-ag-o-nid’-zom-ahee; from 1909 and 75; to struggle for:— earnestly contend for.

It cheapens God's Word when you don't defend it.

But when one see's nothing will be accomplished by it . And enemies really are not interested



I Realized i just came here to be attacked because i am lutheran .

and why should i throw pearls of truth to enemies that could care less.and all they want is to win a debate not using scripture alone but using THEIR REASON TO STAND AS jUDGE OVER WHAT SCRIPTURE REALY DOES SAY.yOU MUST THINK i AM STUPID . I know full well that human reason twists scripture according to it's pleasure.

Then this leads me to think that you don't love me as Jesus does, because He has been ever patient and kind while I study scripture and learn. We are told to gently exhort, reprove, and rebuke in doctrine that we may be sound in the faith.

Which is fine. If you can defend your belief with Scripture, you are more than welcome to do so. As InTheWind said, this is a debate board, and we welcome that here.

Instead of treating us as enemies of Lutherans, why don't you treat us as God's children, whom He sent His only begotten Son to die for? Shouldn't you be an example of Christ's love as you speak with us?
