Today I read Matthew 25:36 and the words "I was in prison and you came to visit me" ; really struck me today. I have read that same scripture more than once but this time was different; like no other. I think that is what God wants me to do at the time being. I am trying to get in contact with people at church to see if we should start a ministry locally here at the jail or if this is something maybe I should proceed with on my own. This seems to fit me perfectly. Just thought I would share this with you. Today my eyes were opened to something yet they are still closed so we will see where this leads... who knows... He does. Thinking about this gives me so much energy and joy.
I want to visit with others one on one and give a listening ear with some encouragement. I want to read the bible together and just show them Jesus. I don't want to teach since that is not my area but I do want to share.
So much of my research for other ministries on the net have been to donate items. I want to do much much more than donate toiletries or money. I want to show them hope in Jesus and the peace that comes with knowing Him and how they are loved ect. Basically I want to give them an introduction to Him and a loving friendship. So what do you think? (I personally would be talking with females only, partly due to my safety).
:yowza: I love this because this is a good way I can get involved and share and not have to give or demand money like others always seem to do. This seems very fulfilling!
