In the UK there is a bill they are trying to pass. Euthanasia; suicide by a physician. It would be considered to only be for those that are terminally ill. I think it is still in the processed of trying to get passed but I am not sure.
Isn't that horrible!?! Terminally ill or not you know those people willing to go through with it do not know Jesus. If they did they wouldn't even think of it no matter how much pain they were in. I met a lady once who had no legs and was bed bound in a nursing home. She had to of been some what young. I am guessing maybe 50 or 60 yrs. She didn't want us to take care of her that day because she said she wanted to die. She looked at us all and yelled "Go away I want to die. Your not touching me today". How sad that poor woman. She needed Jesus to touch her is what she needed. She is not one who needs assisted suicide but she needs Jesus. Just a good example I could think of at the moment of someone who was terminally ill and wanted death over life.
Maybe with Gods Word we can one by one help these people that come across our way to find Jesus before they try to take matters in there own hands.
One story our head nurse told us was about a man who tried to commit suicide. He stole Drano (chemical for unclogging drains) from the cleaning cart and he drank it. He felt what the acid was doing inside his body. Eating his insides quickly and breaking his insides down. So he tried to vomit to get it back out. Well the stomach acid made the Drano even more acidic. They had to rush him into emergency. They said from his mouth down his esophagus to his stomach was all eaten away from the inside and almost to the outside in some parts. That makes my stomach churn.
Only Jesus can reach these people. Lets help them find Him.
