View Full Version : God is amazing!

God is amazing! Within the last 2 weeks this is what he did for me and my family. There are dentists talking amongst themselves about helping out with my husbands teeth. We got a reliable car. We got a dog. I found a small bible study group. I just called my employer today and asked them to float more work my way and she said I can come in tomorrow to talk about a leadership position which means I will get a small bonus every week and more $ per hour and possibly more work hours... Some of these things are still in the process but He is listening and working on things for me and my family. Just the thought of Him listening to me makes me so filled with joy even if some things don't pan out. I feel so spoiled right now and undeserving to receive anything. I just can't believe it! I guess I am not used to it. With things falling into place just means I can do more whatever He wants me to do I'm there and ready. I have some small things going on and I feel in no time they will be overflowing and in abundance. I just had to share this this morning.:yowza:

One more thing I wanted to add was God also gave me time in the morning for walking and bible time.

Kaygee sometimes for me just going outside and reading my bible or praying or just enjoying Gods beauty of nature will lift my mood. Pour out your heart to Him and He will carry your burden for you. Find work that will please God and He will give you spiritual energy to complete it. Find a large project to do that you have the drive to want to complete. Once your imagination gets going with a project who knows where or how the project will turn out. I find that always being with people helps me. Also helping people helps me. A little funny but I love people but I have stage freight pretty bad. I was in a bible Sunday school class last Sunday and the group was about 20 people and I wanted to comment so many times and I felt very pushed to do so but I just couldn't speak. I felt those nerves welling up inside me fast just thinking about it. Thats something I never got over. Its almost like an adrenaline rush. Once I know the people and all their names I won't be so shy to speak in front of the group. I found that what I was thinking, about 2 people later it was said anyways.

I wasn`t trying too be rude or funny, i think that is true with anyone, if we put in a honost effort and pray i think God helps us.

Nope you weren't rude. I agree it's work on our part too. It works out best that way. Example if you get a car for free you'll probably trash it and run it into the ground but if you buy a car and work hard for it, you will wash it, detail it, and keep up on maintenance. (I think of this as a 16yr. old either working for a first car or getting one given to him). I totally agree.

The part about the dry bread and ear slaps is kind of a family joke.
When we were kids we would stay at grandmas sometimes, things were tough and money short. We would get up in a cold house have too go down stairs and she would get the cook stove lit then make oatmeal for breakfast.
If anyone ever complained she would grab you by the ear and say dry bread and ear slaps for you.
Just something i`ve always remembered.

I agree with ITW.
Also, if you look to the world for beauty, peace and purpose you will be disappointed at every corner.
Live in this world but live for the next.
You criticize us for looking at prophecy, saying deal with the world around you.
Prophecy is promise. It is the promise of the resurrection, the NJ, New Earth, eternity with God and Christ. It is the motivation for living right in this world, sharing with others and more.
The promises/prophecies of tomorrow are the food of today.
While you are locked on the world around us we are locked on the future.
Sure, we live in this world, but to be locked on it will starve you spiritually.

so true, when I got married I really got a rude awakening.
still do at times. people were down right rude.
I thought ok its hopeless. I really have to watch that.
my purpose is for the Lord, and eternity. was thinking on that last night.
always my focus must be on the eternal. all of this is going to pass away.
and golly to be feed spiritually, what peace and joy, although the world around one is tumultuous, and undependable.

Yeah the world around us is undependable. I agree we aren't supposed to love and crave this earthly life. We are to love and crave God and the life He gives us. I am not saying that we cannot enjoy the things around us or the people that God sees fit but what we long for is not anything or anyone of earth, its God and Heaven where He dwells. This earth is foreign to us. Its supposed to be. Thats what makes us look further out to find something different, to find God. We are not to love the world. If we did than we would settle and never search for God. Thats part of Gods perfect plan. God purposely puts an empty hole or space within us so we can find Him and He will fill it. Without God that space can seem very big and empty. Some people of this world fill it with a variety of worldly things or other false religions and they are never at peace with what they fill that space with until they fill it with God. I know none of this pertains to you Kaygee since you have found God. I am just speaking in general for the world circuling the drain thats always running and searching. Because we know God, our eyes focus different now and we see what He sees and it is very sad to see these people denying Jesus but yet still searching to fill in that void. Its also sad to see what they let their souls consume. They say their hungry and we as Christians are showing them the food and water that will feed them for life and they deny what we show. They tell us that the food and water we hold is fake or can't be real or they don't believe it and its sad while we sit and watch these nonbelievers starve.

Yeah, realize all these things. Truly you have all spoken. I think I'm talking more about drive. When I arrived here, last week, I wrote up a list of "to do's". It was a fairly extensive list. What have I done. Basically laid on the couch and read 3 novels. No excuse. I can do better than that. God dosen't like laziness!
I hope you don't think I criticize you for being Revelation enthusiasts! I hate to think I would have an attitude such as that. I devrive hope from the ressurection of course. Isn't that the bread and butter of the faith? All the other stuff concerning the end times though, I take with a grain of sand.It just dosen't fire me up, speculating when this and that is supposed to happen. I don't even want to know. Just as long as I'm ready when the trumpet sounds! Is that really so unreasonable. Be honest with me. I've tried to study those other positions, but find them so utterly confusing, that they take me backwards not forwards. If you guys have all that stuff figured out, then great! Far be it from me to denegrate you for it.

OK. No one expects you to be a theologian on the issues, really.
But there is good in knowing some.
Why do you think there is a special blessing for those who study these things? Any idea what that blessing is?
Before I began studying I scratched my head over the special blessing stuff.
Now I understand.

Well Kaygee sometimes a vacation can be tiring. Are you tired or just feel like doing nothing? This could be a time for something Kaygee just ask God and He will show you. I don't know thats only a question for you to answer, only you know what your feelings are or whats going on in your life. Core when it comes to a gift or special blessings from God it is something to scratch your head over but God does choose teachers and such to play a role in helping people to learn the truth. And we need it too especially with all the false that comes in His name. Without the teachers I wonder if we all wouldn't eventually be lost. I think I would be. But you Core definitely have a teaching gift from God. Kaygee I can see your frustrations with things. We don't always have the vigor and energy and some days are up and others are down. Right now I am having a hard time with energy. I am losing about 3 hrs. of sleep every day. I am also having a hard time finding a place in the day to take care of myself. A puppy is a lot like a new baby but maybe a little more time consuming.

Hooray! I feel my old groove returning. Had some missionaries down tonight for a visit. They were from S. Carolina and Ringold Georgia area. Sat around our kitchen table a had a real old gab fest. Talked a lot about Church affairs and doctrine and such. I brought up some things that I have got embroiled in on this forum. Now I have a clearer head and I'm feeling better. We are gonna have a great day of fellowship tomorrow.
