Here is yet ANOTHER horrifying pit bull story .....

Pit Bulls Break into Home, Kill other Dog, Maul Woman!

GIG HARBOR, Wash. (AP) - Two pit bull terriers broke into a house through a pet door Tuesday and attacked a woman in her bed, mauling her badly, a Pierce County sheriff's spokesman said.
The woman was able to grab a gun and try to shoot the dogs, then break away from the attack and lock herself in her car, where she called 911, sheriff's spokesman Ed Troyer said.
The woman, who was not immediately identified, was taken to a hospital in Tacoma, where she was listed in serious condition.
Officers planned to talk to the dogs' owner.
The pit bulls also killed a neighbor's Jack Russell terrier, which entered the house during the attack, Troyer said.
"The thought is that the Jack Russell heard noise in the neighbor's house, came in and was attacked by the dogs," Troyer said.
Firefighters responded first, locking the dogs in the house, treating the woman and calling for an ambulance.
Officers "had to pepper spray and fight the dogs until they were detained. We almost had to shoot them on site," Troyer said.
The dogs were taken to a Humane Society and will probably be destroyed, he said.
It was not immediately known why the dogs entered the house, whether the woman had dogs of her own or what set off the attack.

people try to say this breed is'nt that bad.

I remember the first time I ever heard of a pit bull attacking its owner,
NEVERMIND A STRANGER, was way back in 1980! This so-called family
pet just up and attacked the boy of the family. Out of nowhere. It
scarred him for life on his face.

:aah: Keep them away from meeeeee!! That's what I say.

I know many who have them and I tell you what I don't trust them either. One was so skiddish around my daughter because she is a little kid that I won't take her over there any more. I grew up around dogs and no matter what breed I know thats a very bad sign. The dog was never abused. That same dog has jumped the fence in the yard and attacked two other dogs, one killed and one just damaged. And I hate how the owners of these dogs say its o.k. their just this or that. I think that these dogs have been dog fighting for so long it's in their blood to just attack and they might not even know why they attack; it has become their instinct. They are the only bread that I am aware of thats used for dog fighting in gambling. It happens a lot more than you would expect. I would guess that probably 70% of these dogs are used for drug houses or dog fighting. If they weren't personally used than their mom or dad or "grandmas and grandpas" at least were. So its like each one is so closely linked to it if not involved themselves. I also think that they need to be outlawed.

My husband just did some research on the internet about the pit bull history and it says that the breed came about in the 1800's purposely for dog fighting.

Kinda like Sharks, eh?? Plenty of other fish, but if humans could
somehow harness and train sharks to fight, it would become the
US's biggest illegal sport, bar none!

HEADLINE: Woman killed by her 2 pit bulls

Dogowner attacked in backyard – had raised pair since birth (http://www.wnd.com/redir/r.asp?http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/local/state/sns-ap-dog-attack,0,5342038.story)
--Associated Press

MIDDLEBURG, Fla. - Two pit bull terriers fatally attacked their owner who had raised them since birth, authorities said Tuesday. Tina Marie Canterbury, 42, was walking to her back yard when the 2-year-old redbone pit bull terriers attacked her, according to the Clay County Sheriff's Office.

One of Canterbury's sons tried to help her, but the dogs attacked him. He was not seriously injured, authorities said.

A family friend shot at the dogs to scare them away. A deputy shot one of the dogs. The other dog ran away but was found two hours later and killed, authorities said.

Clay County Sheriff Rick Beseler said he couldn't remember such a severe dog attack since becoming sheriff three years ago.

There were no signs of dog fighting or other abuse at the Canterbury home, authorities said.

I have never heard of a problem with Rottweillers.

Dobbs are bred down Rottweillers, thus the cranium problem.

rotts out here remind one of the pit. I dont trust them.

not so many people have them anymore as they used to, most want the pit bull now.

so the cranium problem was real....

Dobermans are the ones with the weird mouth to where they look like they have an under bite aren't they? Doberman and Doberman Pincher's are the same? Where did the name Pincher come from?

Jessie
