I have just read that there are now security guards walking through
cinema theaters wearing night scopes, in order that they
might hopefully catch someone in the act of illegally filming a movie.
The question is, do we want someone staring at us while we are
trying to watch a film? I mean, we pay decent change for these
nights out now, so why should we be made to feel uncomfortable
when we we're trying to enjoy the flick?? I mean, it may not seem
like much of an issue just to read it here from me now, but try watching a
movie in a dark theater with some person walking around, looking all
over the crowd? You included!
Anyway, I am kinda stuck, because I am all for justice, and I wanna
see these ppl caught! I am so sick of ppl in this world doing their best to
break the law.

Wow!
I am with you on this one.
Will have to think about it, for awhile.
Piracy of copyrighted media is a huge problem, this isn't much different than not being allowed to bring cameras into a concert.
In our day, small digital cameras could be used to get a reasonable copy of hit movies that could then be emailed overseas where millions of bootleg videos could be produced, quick, fast and in a hurry.

Oh boy is this a problem. The same day a movie is released in theaters you will find dozens to hundreds of the flick online. I agree these people need to be caught. But it is eerie to have someone watching you while you are at the movies. Yes so may cameras are so little. Because of people like this our privacy and rights are slowly being investigated. These people ruin it for everybody. It goes way beyond just movies. Stealing is stealing. $1000's of dollars of software, music, movies, to even books. Its a flood gate.

Great point, Baker. And how can this all NOT lead to the eventual
techno-scrutinization of our once FREE nation?? And Canada's, too.
I mean, from what I have heard/read, Toronto has a lot of cams
in their city, too.
LOL. Reminds me of that 80's tune, where Michael Jackson sings ....
I always feel like somebody's WATCHING meeeeeeeeeeee!
And Rockwell says, and I get no privacy! :chicken:

I've never understood the filming of flicks at the theatre. The lag time is so short now between the theatre release and the DVD release, IMO why bother? There is no movie made these days that I can't wait a few mere weeks to see at home. Those pirated ones are poor. You don't get all the special features either. What does a DVD cost to rent? 4 or 5 bucks! c'mon! It just leads me to the conclusion, people are ridiculous!
Toronto has some red light cameras. Only at the most dangerous intersections. As for the other kind, there may be a few. A simple rule I have discovered about the world is that technology always moves forward. Noboby invents something then hides it in a closet. We have all embraced the techno-world with its electronic wonderland through internet, cell phones, e-banking, etc... Privacy was lost a long time ago. Live with it I guess. 21st century technology just is not compatible with 19th century privacy! Be careful not to commit crimes on camera. As christian, you shouldn't any way. God sees everything!
all the best...

I see what you're saying, Kay. And although I agree, it is certainly a shame that
the citizens of these so-called "civilized" nations have to be watched. And whether
or not you believe it, we are definitely headed for a real-life version of Orwells's
best-selling 1984.

Millions of poorly made, pirated DVDs of a first run hit movie might sell for $2 at flee markets and bootleg operations all over the world.
. . . they probably cost $.20 to make.
Enough of a markup for organized crime and the mafia.
