View Full Version : Hillary Rodham Clinton at 2005 La Raza Conference
We need to do more to improve our adult education system and to make it more responsive to immigrants and to people whose first language is not English and give them the opportunity to demonstrate their skills and their abilities to succeed and make a living.
And I’ve worked with Senator Chafee from Rhode Island to introduce the Immigrant Children’s Health Improvement Act to give health services to pregnant women immigrants and children who are currently prohibited from receiving such services for the first five years they are in this country.
So let’s invest money on the front end of a child’s life and make sure we avoid the expense of the difficult health problems, which come because immigrants don’t have health insurance anymore. They don’t have even access to health care.
And the federal government, I have advocated, should be helping those hospitals, like those in New York and New Jersey, and Texas, and Arizona, and California and elsewhere that provide a lot of free health care to immigrants. We should be doing everything possible to make sure that health care is a top priority going forward for our nation.
Remarks of Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton at the 2005 National Council of La Raza Annual Conference (http://216.239.51.104/search?q=cache:vzGHySXpvAcJ:www.clinton.senate.gov/news/statements/details.cfm%3Fid%3D241057+hillary%27s+dream+act&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=9&gl=us&client=firefox-a)

Really, not funny.
You want the illegals, you invite them to Canada.
La Raza ranks right there with the KKK and Black Panthers.

No, being a fool is not being compassionate. It is being a fool.
They are illegal, bring in huge amounts of crime, responsible for huge numbers of car accidents, are overwhelming out medical facilities, forcing many out of work, SSI is being cut to those who worked years to get it to pay for them and wasted efforts like AID in Africa and more.
No. It is not an issue of compassion, at all.
Try going to Mexico, illegally, and see what happens.

if she wants to hand over the country to them then just say so.

Is that compassion to them??? KG please answer this one.
is she going to care? no.

Dear Jessie. Welcome to the realities of the 21st century. It's happening in every civilized nation. Is America so insular, that you thought it wasn't going to happen to you? The planet has close to 6 billion people and growing. Of course North America is going to draw the overflow that can manage to get there. All any body wants is a decent life right? Isn't that what you want? I do! North America is the last bastion of hope for these folks. The political and religious messes their own countries are in, make any dream of personal prosperity impossible.
Face it. Like Bob Dylan once sang: The times, they are a changing! I too, dream of the good old days, when you didn't a bank loan to fill the gas tank. Candy bars were a dime and all that. We are living in a new order. A global village. This inter-net which you and I are talking on, has a lot to do with that also. America can no longer be an insulated gated community.
Jessie, let's just follow Jesus and look to heaven. someday soon. (in the twinkling of an eye) none of this is going to even matter any more!
all the best...

not what I meant. no I did'nt think that of america. either.
what I meant was why do you think this is compassionate?
its hurting them. and really hurting them in the long haul as well.
what will they do when there is NO america to run too?

Oh, I think there will always be an America to run to. No worries about that. Where is it going to go to?
Compassion is elping people get started in a new life. Many cases,a new language and every thing. How do you know that the kid in that class, isn't going to be the one doing the hip operation on you when you are 80? Some once said that to me (I once thought just like you and Core) and it really opened my eyes.
They are here to stay. The least we can do is educate them. Perhaps you can not repeat history, like the shabby treatment of native american and blacks.
Why do you people continually kick against the goads? Utopia is not a dirty word. It could be a good thing!

no america wont be here. within 10 yrs she has declined so much I dont even know her anymore.
see you dont realize all over the people are getting farther from God and farther,
so they wont have compassion and hip surgery by one of them?
no that wont be around either.
utopia is'nt going to come until Jesus comes back to reign on the earth,
the bible is very clear that this earth will be a mess when he does come back.
why do you try to have this utopia when God has clearly said it would'nt happen?
not trying to be mean just asking...
what I'm saying is that wickedness will get worse and it sure does'nt bring blessings with it.

Some Utopian countries do exist. Canada is one. Sweden and a few others too. I am not saying super-power. A super-power is one thing, an Utopia is another. A Utopia is not heaven either. Heaven is that etheral place where God dwells. In heaven, everything is perfect. Not in a Utopia. It simply means that the government invests in the well being, and happiness of it's own citizens. A super-power invests its money in military institutions in order to serve as a policeman to the world at large, and leaves its citizens to fend for themselves. Utopias do not in any way conflict with the bible. I consider myself blessed to have been born, raised and a citizen of one.

Sweden is being overrun by Muslims. Full of drugs, suicides and worse.
Pretty pictures and people do not Utopia make.
There isn't a single Utopia on the earth. Sure not Canada.
And such dishonesty, or naivity.
Canada has some of the strictest immigration laws around.
Maybe we should ship you a few million illegal. See how the attitude changes. :p

We've been welcoming them in for years. We have to because our birth rate is just too low. We need to build our population to broaden the tax base, to ensure financial solvency in the future. Nobody said that operating a Utopia was cheap!

No. You have not been welcoming in illegals for years. Don't go there.
Canada has very rigid imigration laws.
Like all those Hong Kong immigrants. Loaded. Rich.
Others are required to have a skill needed in Canada.
So don't go there illegals are welcome. They are not.

KG, have you even listened to the news concerning whats going on in canada?
canadas borders from washington are locked down tight.
we used to yrs ago simply go thru customs, no problems.
I dont even like the way it feels now in the last 20 yrs.
you had a tunnel to smuggle drugs to the US a few yrs ago.
yes, would you like a few million of them sent right on up?
KG you KNOW things are'nt that good. yes canada has some good things but they have problems just like anywhere else.
sharia law has been put into place in canada. pastors are not allowed to read the whole of scripture without imprisionment or fined.
actually its setting in poverty. vancouver NEVER used to be like it is now.

I'll have a lot of catching up to do I guess. I am flying home on Tuesday for a while. The sharia law and the preacher thing is mis-imformation I think. When I'm talking about Utopian life, I don't mean those things. I'm referring to the general well being and happiness of the citizens. Very high standard of living across the board. Good social programs. Health, daycare, maternity leave, etc...not to mention self sufficient in resources and energy. What else do you need for the good life. The perfect climate for skiing, skating and snowmobilig. Over all, the nicest people in the world, and that is a documented fact. That is are national character and that's the truth. As it that hard to believe that some can be patriotic without being an american. Deal with it. I constantly hear Americans prattling away about the virtues of their homeland, and so they should!

Being content is one thing. I can go with that.
Again, you have not been paying attention to the news.
Most Americans feel the country is serious decline and their standard of living is sliding.
Illegals is one big fractor. Open markets another, as demonstrated by all the problems being discovered with products from China.
Be patriotic. But be honest.

To be perfectly honest, I have not been watching much news. We have not much in the telecommunication realm here. Aside from the lap top here and a phone, we're pretty much in a news black-out. That's part of the attraction for us. No news, no bills, no junk-mail, nothing! We have a TV but there is no satellite or cable. No radio. (not much comes in on it). The nearest newspapers are several miles away. I'm telling you, this is a very remote place. I feel like a lighthouse keeper or something! All that to say that, I do e-mail folks from my fellowship back home, including preachers, and no one has ever spoken of any problem, preaching the bible. We are as down on homosexuality as any denom is. Probably more. As for Sharia, unless something has radically changed since April (when I left), I wont believe that either. The government defeated that back before I even moved here.
If it has, then I'll have to lessening my stay there. Right now I kinda have the best of both worlds, a tax free life here and free medical up there. Aint life great?!!!!

america "used" to be great, shes wallowing in the mire now.
now we still have some good stuff going on here but things in the last 10 yrs have changed and in another 10 yrs we wont even know out own country.
canada and britian have gone to sharia law. do they follow it yet? no.
its for the future.

Because of my lack of news, I have not been following Hilary that closely. I just really think given a 4 year try out would really do some good for the soul of the US. Woman have proved to be quite dynamic in politics. Look at Margaret Thatcher and her legacy for Britain. Nuff said!
