Speaking as a Vet from the Nam Era:
1, This is a volunteer army. No one has to join.
2. The military is about fighting, not a social club. If you don't understand that, don't join.
3. If you don't like the timing or the reasons for being there, discuss it on a political level, not at the soldiers' level.
4. Yes, soldiers get hurt and die in war. Only a fool thinks otherwise.
5. We have a military because sometimes war is required, even though we don't like them. Only a fool thinks otherwise.
6. World peace would be nice. But it isn't going to happen since the world is populated by people, with far too many who want to rule others. Only a fool thinks otherwise.
7. You cannot make peace with Islam. A stated belief is the world must be converted to Islam. Those who will not convert must die. Only those who refuse to open their eyes do not know this.
8. Liberals do not honor or care for our vets as they should. Any vet knows that.

Terrorists defy every sentence of the Geneva Convention, so in the name of good sense, can somebody tell me why they deserve to be treated under its protections when they are captured?

They fight hiding behind skirts and cradles; they wear no uniforms and indiscriminately kill anybody who stands in their way, even people of their own race and faith. They torture and kill the prisoners who are unfortunate enough to fall into their grasp.

They are bent on destroying every Christian and Jew on earth and some people actually believe that they are entitled to a lawyer, a plush prison and all the rights of the people they are so determined to destroy.

Well I for one don't think they should be entitled to anything except humane treatment and a military tribunal. In fact I think it's high time to abandon any semblance of traditional wartime mores and fight this war on the enemy's terms.

And no I am not talking about the intentional killing of innocent civilians or instituting suicide bombing. I'm talking about pursuing them in every way possible. I'm talking about wire tapping, profiling, shooting first and asking questions later.

Sound radical to you? Well it is. When you're fighting radicals you have to be radical.

Ya know, I have always thought that antiwar protesters who only point out the destruction and death of war were the most narrow-minded people on earth. I mean, it's war! Let's tell our boys to stick a daisy in their hat and have a garden party over there.
