Within hours after the election, the post-mortems began, deciphering what the voters want and who was at fault for the Republican losses. Many people recognized the damage of the scandals and of Republicans losing their vision for values and responsible government. Leaders admitted their collective faults and committed to pursue conservative values.

So what does this mean for pro-life legislation? Sadly, the leadership in the Senate and House, as well as the powerful chairmen of the committees, will be the senior crowd; those who have been around the longest and are from the old-school of abortion-on-demand.

Not only are they not likely to let wildly popular pro-life legislation, like the Child Custody Protection Act, see the light of day. No, they also are more aggressive than an angry pit bull, attacking innocent people who are just trying to help others. They are known for smearing and trying to criminalize pregnancy care centers and besmirching abstinence education. Facts are trivial in their war to silence and intimidate those who provide alternatives or opposition to abortion.

This will be a challenging new Congress for pro-family Christians. Religious freedom will be threatened with each advance of the homosexual agenda. Those at the beginning and end of life will need us to protect them, so they are treated as human beings, not material to be carved up, denied sustenance, and treated as waste or material for research. Our national sovereignty could be handed over, through treaties and agreements, to international bodies.

Some Democrat and Republican leaders recognize they cannot win elections without courting Christians. But it's up to us to let them know what we expect them to do to win our support.

It’s truly too bad that most Americans are no more aware of this than they were aware – thanks to the Democrat Party and their propaganda arm, the mainstream press – that a great deal of progress was being made in Iraq and in the Terror War in general.

Despite the grotesque and obvious failings of the GOP, this election was not a mandate against Republican leadership, or on the Terror War, or Iraq – it was a testimony to the power of the far-Left propaganda machine and the juvenile mindset, absurd expectations and gullibility of the American people.

A Pennsylvania pro-family group is denouncing Senator-elect Bob Casey, Jr., for pledging to advance hate crimes legislation once he's in Washington.

One day after the election, Casey announced that one of his priorities in the Senate will be to secure passage of a federal hate crimes law that includes "sexual orientation" and "gender identity." In a press released issued on November 8, Casey acknowledged that the nation's largest homosexual lobby group -- the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) (http://www.hrc.org/) -- had been a "tremendous help" during his campaign, calling the group's energy and commitment "extraordinary." He then stated he was looking forward to working with the HRC staff to advance hate crimes legislation.

Diane Gramley, president of the American Family Association of Pennsylvania (http://www.afaofpa.org/), believes the incoming senator -- who soundly defeated the Republican incumbent, pro-family and pro-life stalwart Rick Santorum -- is doing a favor for the HRC. "HRC gave him over $100,000 towards his campaign," she notes. "They endorsed him [and] they had a setup on their website where you could give directly to Bob Casey's campaign." Gramley says there is "no doubt that ... it's payback time -- and Bob Casey's paying HRC back by his support of such legislation."
