i am more confused now than i ever have been.
i am learning about WOF and i don't subscribe to their teachings i guess....i do like john hagee and i hear he is a WOFer too...however, i truly have paid attention to his prophecy more than anything..
anyway...i am lost and confused about what we are supposed to pray for and what faith truly means.
i want to be in the center of Gods will and i pray for that even if it means that i dont get what i want. i can fight through the superficial wants anymore to be in His will.
then i think i need to pray for protection of my children and for protection for other people (i find that i am prompted OFTEN to pray for others). however, the more i learn about WOF, the more i don't understand faith. if we are to be truly be desirous of being in God's will, why would we then pray for really anything but that? even protection for our loved ones' and children. what if God's will was for one of my children to die for some greater good? and i am praying for their safety and protection all along? that horrifies me.
i don't get it. i don't know what to have faith in other than Jesus died for my sins and that the bible is true and that it is infallible...the rest? well...how does God's will and free-will reconcile?
i am paralyzed and i have never felt so discouraged and saddened by so much confusion. i need to understand what the bible says for me to pray for, how to pray for it, and how faith fits in...

Hi faith , what is wof?
word of faith movement..
basically where (in a nutshell-which is about my level of understanding) a person's will becomes the desire no matter what the circumstance and that their "faith" in God will help them achieve it.
prosperity, health, postive confession....if you see it, dream it, believe it...God will see to it that it happens.

that doesnt sound biblical to me . Hey Im a new christian but ..If it aint in the bible . It sounds self serving and new agey to me .
Im confused about alot of things , I ask questions and then look them up, if its not biblical into the fire it goes.
alot of people are twisting scripture to serve themselves, quoting out of context, thinking
they can harness the power of God to serve themselves, We are here to serve him not the other way around.reducing God to nothing more than a tool to get what they want, is wrong and I am afraid they will find that out one day.

i dont understand it all..but it is a manipulation of scripture from what i know...but it made me wonder about what it is we are supposed to pray for and how God even fits into our lives....i am so unbelievably confused.......i can't even explain it properly

You know What Faith , i suffer from an anxiety disorder and sometimes my mind just goes around in circles, I think the best thing to do is simply pray , for the Lords spirit to show you the truth , relax and be patient put your trust in the Lord , not in anyone else or anything else, he is in control, always has been, always will be .

Hi guys, don`t give up on faith as you know it in your heart, God is there and He hears our prayers. Just get back to the basics and trust your heart and forget about all the show boating and hype that is on tv and else where. I read a book a while back called God will make a way and i liked the book but what really stuck in my mind was those words God will make a way. If we believe in our hearts that God hears our prayers He will make a way, it might be something that we don`t even recognize at first or it may take a while or be different than what we expected. God knows what we need and if we trust and believe in Him we can have faith that physically or mentally He will get us through anything the world can throw at us.

thank you..
i have been through a lot in my life and have had faith so strong for reasons that i can't understand....and God has provided a way. now i find another situation in which i have no answers. i have evangelized recently and sent out a lot of material to people/family/friends and my own mother who has been horrible to me, and has been into witchraft has accepted Jesus as a result of the prophecy stuff i sent her. since then, i have struggled with things that i know God is aware of..but i seem to be sinking deeper and i am not sure what to do.
i believe i am being attacked spiritually...but i find little hope at the moment (been a while now) that it will improve. and now with all the WOF stuff i am reading about, i don't feel like i can even petition God with a request, because my greatest need/desire is to be in HIS will....what if HIS will is just this? then i am contradicting myself and asking for my will instead. i know it seems as though i am making it bigger than it needs to be...but if we are in His will isn't there supposed to be peace? if there is supposed to be peace, how does that happen..because when we are doing His will, then the spiritual attacks come in droves...and try to beat you down...
i am so paralyzed....i could use some prayers for God to respond to my needs...He knows them and has for quite some time...thank you

Faith , first off you are in my prayers  I know what it is like to be filled with fear and confusion.
Second I have been enjoying a book called "When God doesnt make Sense" by Dr. James Dobson. Its been wonderful for me , because like you I am driven to find all the answers. I would recommend it, it has really helped me .

I understand the confusion.
its late tonight and will get back tomarrow.
but dont give up asking God and talking to Him, in wof one "confess's" that they have whatever they want, and its all about having enough faith, when the scripture clearly says a grain the size of a mustard seed is ok!
they twist up the meaning of what true faith is with having faith in your faith.
others here are much better than I am at explaining this although I've been in it.
always ask and talk to the Lord! he lets us know when we dont line up with his desires!
I guess what your feeling is like putting the horse before the cart when you are thinking you cant ask until you are certain it all lines up with him, he understands when we ask wrong, sometimes he says no sometimes its wait, and like with your mom Hes really going right at it! what a wonderful thing!
remember its a relationship with the Lord! you talk he talks. the relationship grows.
dont let your heart be full of fear. God is gracious. he walks with us and cares deeply,
he understands when we ask.

lets say you were praying for one of your children and their protection,
that is what God would have you do! now if the Lord decides its their time,
its his choice, nothing to worry about. what you have going on is a bondage
your praying will not stop God from doing what He knows is best.
remember He is always in control no matter what we or anyone thinks or says.
he is not bound by us.
there is no magic formula of praying you were going great before, like I said its a relationship with the Lord! talk to him about everything, he can hear. he cares about you and your children, those you pray for, etc.
when you talk to your husband or children is it scripted? nope.
it would'nt be a personal relationship if it was.
have freedom again in your praying!

The WoF Movement is about getting. They turn God into a goodie machine. Say the right words and out pops to stuff.
God knows we have spiritual and worldly needs.
We take all of them to God in prayer and turn them over to him. Do what we can and trust God to supply the rest and guide the whole.
We are to take our health, finanacial and all else to God. We are not to go to God looking to be millinaires, get fancy cars, mansions and all the rest.
Have a health issue, which many of us do, take it to God and accept the wisdom of his answer.
If that answer is being healed, thank him. If not healed, thank him and understand we will be healed in eternity and there is a greater need for not being healed, at this time, than being healed.
Seek to be like Christ, within the teachings of the Bible and to meet our worldly needs and concerns. Pray for all of that. That is Godly and Biblical.
We cannot do it, but he can. And he wants us to trust and come to him in all things.
But don't get into the give to get, becoming little gods, self elevation, abudanct blessings of earthly wealth and so on the WoF is obsessed with.
They heaven is living it up big on the earth. Ours should be laying up treasures in Heaven for eternity.
Our treasures will endure. Theirs will perish, along with many of them.

What Core said pretty much sums it up.
Please remember, WOF is very self-serving. They use you, me, and whoever to bolster their egos so they feel important, make themselves rich, and contrive the illusion that they are holy in the eyes of God. They are not. Whenever you hear a minister tell you that you have to give them something (money) in order to get something from God, keep in mind that the minister is not working on behalf of Jesus Christ, or seeking to teach us of the cross...he/she is helping themselves.
The Bible tells us that there is only one mediator between God and man...Christ Jesus. Therefore, it is not necessary to give anything to these WOFers for God to act on your behalf. Jesus Himself said for us to cast all of our cares upon HIM, for He cares for us. You can go straight to the throne room yourself. This takes faith.
If you're worried about whether or not you have enough faith to do this, keep in mind that you wouldn't be in the throne room to begin with if you didn't have faith.
