21 Ways to be a Good Democrat . . .You have to:
• be against capital punishment, but support abortion on demand.
• believe that businesses create oppression and governments create opportunity.
• believe that guns in the hands of law-abiding citizens are more of a threat than U.S. nuclear weapons technology in the hands of Chinese and North Korean communists.
• believe that there was no art before federal funding.
• believe that global temperatures are less affected by cyclical documented changes in the earth’s climate and more affected by soccer moms driving SUVs.
• believe that gender roles are artificial, but being homosexual is natural.
• believe that the AIDS virus is spread by a lack of federal funding.
• believe that the same teacher who can’t teach 4th-graders how to read is somehow qualified to teach those same kids about sex.
• believe that hunters don’t care about nature, but loony activists, who have never been outside of San Francisco, do.
• believe that self-esteem is more important that actually doing something to earn it.
• believe that Mel Gibson spent $25 million of is on money to make The Passion of The Christ for financial gain only.
• believe that the NRA is bad because it support certain parts of the Constitution, while the ACLU is good because it supports certain parts of the Constitution.
• believe that taxes are too low, but ATM fees are too high.
• believe that Margaret Sanger and Gloria Steinem are more important to American history than Thomas Jefferson, Gen. Robert E. Lee and Thomas Edison.
• believe that standardized tests are racist but quotas and set-asides are not.
• believe that Hillary Clinton is normal and a very nice person.
• believe that the only reason socialism hasn’t worked anywhere in history that it’s been tried is because the right people haven’t been in charge.
• believe conservatives telling the truth belong in jail, but a liar and a sex offender belonged in the White House.
• believe that homosexual parades displaying drag, transvestites, and bestiality should be constitutionally protected, and manger scenes at Christmas should be illegal.
• believe that illegal Democratic Party funding by the Chinese government is somehow in the best interest of the United States.
• believe that this message is part of a vast, right-wing conspiracy.
21 Ways to be a Good Democrat (http://www.theconservativevoice.com/articles/article.html?id=9365)
For those of you who haven't read The ScrewTape Letters by C.S. Lewis, Screwtape is a demon:
The biggest loser in this zone: the anti-immigration crowd. Many of these daring men of political principle propose to stay home on election day to punish the failure of Republicans to stand tough enough on immigration. By staying home, they’ll help to contribute to the passage of amnesty by a Democratic Congress.
We’ll work together with Mr. Bush to pass amnesty for the simple reason that a path to citizenship will create a continual line of new Democratic voters that year by year will strengthen our party and make us a permanent majority. Our greatest enemy, Mr. Bush, will with a stroke of his pen provide our greatest victory. The fool believes illegal immigration will gain the GOP Hispanic votes. Of course, as most migrants tend to be poor and poor people tend to vote Democrat, this is counterintuitive. If Mr. Rove were worth his salt, he’d focus on increasing the GOP’s support among the Hispanic middle class, which truly cares little about this issue.
The religious right, by staying home, will ensure if there is a Supreme Court vacancy in the next 2-4 years, it will be nigh impossible to nominate another extremist like Roberts and Alito. Bush would have to go with a Souteresque nominee, or we’ll keep the seat vacant until a Democratic President is in office.
It is of course, theoretically possible for these elements in the Republican Party to address their concerns in a non-destructive way by strongly supporting primary challengers to offending members in the next election. However, we are incredibly fortunate that most of them are too dim-witted to realize this.
Still, we must remain focused until the last vote is cast. Our job is to depress turnout among the Conservative base. You in the media need to use special care to put disgruntled Republicans and Conservatives on television constantly. Please take no care for how genuine their credentials are. Create enough perception that Conservatives should stay home, and it will become reality.
With the help of our unwitting Conservative allies, we will be victorious this November.
Regards,
Dave Screwtape

Hmmm. I don't see the majority of Rep. being anti-illegal.
If we don't replace them, as well, the outcomewill be the same on that issue as if the Dems won.
But, as we have seen, the Party is backing ultra-liberal Rep. over conservative ones to 'win.'
How is electing a Dem. in Rep. clothing going to help on those issues?
Do not get me wrong. I don't want Dems elected. But I am not seeing the Rep. as offering the change we need, either.
Found this polling site, interactive and updated daily:
Election 2006 (http://www.electoral-vote.com/)
Remember there is only one poll that counts . . . .
HOW TO BE A GOOD LIBERAL
1. You have to believe the AIDS virus is spread by the lack of Federal funding.
2. You have to believe that the same teacher who can't teach 4th graders how to read is somehow qualified to teach the same kids about sex.
3. You have to believe that guns in the hands of law-abiding Americans are more of a threat than U.S. nuclear weapons technology in the hands of Chinese communists.
4. You have to believe that there was no art before Federal funding.
5. You have to believe that global temperatures are less affected by cyclical, documented changes in the earth's climate, and more affected by yuppies driving SUV's.
6. You have to believe that gender roles are artificial but being homosexual is natural.
7. You have to be against capital punishment but support abortion on demand.
8. You have to believe that businesses create oppression and governments create prosperity.
9. You have to believe that hunters don't care about nature, but looney activists who've never been outside Seattle do.
10. You have to believe that self-esteem is more important than actually doing something to earn it.
11. You have to believe that the military, not corrupt politicians, start wars.
12. You have to believe the NRA is bad because it supports certain parts of the Constitution, while the ACLU is good, because it supports certain parts of the Constitution.
13. You have to believe that taxes are too low, but ATM fees are too high.
14. You have to believe that Margaret Sanger and Gloria Steinem are more important to American history than Thomas Jefferson, General Robert E. Lee, or Thomas Edison.
15. You have to believe that standardized tests are racist, but racial quotas and set-asides aren't.
16. You have to believe Hillary Clinton is really a lady.
17. You have to believe that the only reason socialism hasn't worked anywhere it's been tried is because the right people haven't been in charge.
18. You have to believe conservatives telling the truth belong in jail, but a liar and a sex offender belongs in the White House.
19. You have to believe that homosexual parades displaying drag, transvestites and bestiality should be Constitutionally protected and manger scenes at Christmas should be illegal.
20. You have to believe that illegal Democratic party funding by the Chinese is somehow in the best interest of the United States.
21. You have to believe that anyone who beats you in an intellectual arguments is a bigot.
And finally...
22. You have to believe Richard Nixon obstructed justice by having an 18 1/2 minute gap in one tape of his recorded conversations and that it was an innocent mistake that one year's worth of Al Gore's e-mails got erased.
And, wouldn't you know that these e-mails of Al's just happen to be the ones subpoenaed by a White House committee and a federal grand jury in their continuing investigation of campaign finance abuses and other matters.
Bonus belief of a liberal:
23. You have to believe that it's better for a woman to be raped and murdered than for a rapist to be shot.
Believe all of the above, and THEN you will be a really good liberal.

Okay kiddies, help write the excuse for the Democratic loss next Tuesday. They're so brain dead, we can guess what they're going to say even this far out!
Simply choose the word you like best in parentheses and you too can write a story for Nov. 8th's New York Times:
Democrats last night were outraged because the elections were obviously (rigged, stolen, hijacked, over run, oppressed)
. . . by (Haliburton, the Religious Right, maniac gun owners, insane right wingers, idiot hicks from fly over country, the Nazi blogosphere).
This is due to the (fearmongering, racism, sexism, homophobia, Islamophobia)
. . . of (cops, old people, election officials, the KKK, the Boy Scouts)
. . . who (sat outside, had a demostration, had a rifle shoot, dared display the American flag) outside the voting booths.
There are also stories coming in that (illegal immigrants, convicted felons, active terrorists, the clinically insane, the dead) were denied their Constitutional right to vote.
Naturally this will lead to at least two more years of (racism in the war on terror, an unimpeached George Bush, continued tax cuts) which will spell doom for all Americans.
Fortunately the heroes at the unbiased, non partisan (ACLU, Democratic Party, Moveon.org, Communist Party) are suing to have the elections thrown out.
Let's honor the media this Nov 8th and all submit our own stories.

Sid I am a big fan of C.S . Lewis's Screw Tape Letters.
perhaps you should discuss that book in more detail.
I'd be glad to participate in that discussion.
Its apparent to me that a discussion with you about politics would not be as productive as your showing a very closed mind about it.
I assure you good christians vote for both parties. If they vote at all.
I hate to break it to you but good christians in mass will be voting Democrat this election to try to stem the tide of unchristian actions the current administration has saddled this nation with. Don't believe me?
Check out the red letter christians or the faithful democrats.

Both parties are corrupt sid. Explain Conda Lisa Rice awarding some gay man and his partner a civic service award recently and calling his gay lovers parents his inlaws for all the world to hear? I have explained that both parties are solely interested in how much money they can line thier pockets and thier buddies pockets with. They will both lie to accomplish that end. Bush wants a open border guest worker program. Thats treason to me.
As long as the Democratic Party is ateup with a pro-abortion; pro-gay marriage, pro-gun control. pro-open borders mindset, you can bet I will remain pretty closed minded about it.

No Christians don't vote at some point because thier studies of the bible come to a point where they know that all goverments of men are evil and corrupt , yet God is using that for his purposes.
So really why bother when you realize that.
However the war in Iraq is really a issue that I cannot remain silent as a christian about.
Don't want to be accused by God when he judges me of standing idly by and saying nothing while my goverment cheered and killed innocents in Iraq.
Don't know what Kerry or Kennedy have to do with this? My own state has been stuck with two very similiar corrupt men for at least a generation. Byrd and Rockerfeller.
while Byrd does seem to have repented some what from his evil ways. Rockerfeller is a rich man whos intrests always lie in his own pockets as they do with most politicians.
I really question the People's Republic of Massachusetts capacity for rational thought when they have John Kerry and Ted Kennedy for Senators. Are they the best that Mass. can come up with?

Peach,
Liberal Christians may be Christians, but they are not good Christians when they openly vote for politicians who would seal God behind church doors.
RCC and liberal mainstream denominations are not good Chrisitans, if Christians at all.
They are part of the 7th church and the harlot of Revelation. Those spit out into the Trib.
Last days are filled with those who call themselves Christians, but have itching ears pursuing false teachers and looking for God to satisfy their material desires.
Any student of the Bible is aware of these simple facts about our times.
What Christians can knowingly vote for politicians who find God a foul name and his teaching not progressive?

The bible tells us to give to caesar what is caesar and God what is God's It also tells us that all goverments of men will be corrupt evil things . They will be as yokes on the necks of the people they govern.
Its apparent that church and state must be kept seperate to a degree , for many reason's not the least of which who gets to decide which denomination is the goverments religion?
What Christians can knowingly vote for politicians who find God a foul name and his teaching not progressive?

OK, please knock off the shouting (caps and huge letters)
God has not put me in charge of judging. But has commanded the Church to judge the Church according to what he has revealed and commanded of us.
By the way, if I am judging, so are you. To command another to turn a blind eye is a judgement, whether you like it or not.
Hmmmm. How about all opposed to public prayer, opposed to BSA on public lands but support gay and other such use of them, funding for Christian private schools, invent the Wall of Separation of Church and State, which does not exist, support not allowing school kids to wear crosses or carry Bibles, oppose Christian clubs, and on and on.
Is it, or is it not, anti-God and Christian to support abortion, gay rights, ban Christian symbols and such from public places and all such actions?
Is it, or is it not, Democrats behind such actions and moves?

But what you forget core that it was that way when Jesus walked the earth. Remember Herod and the Eygptians who ruled the Hebrews during Christs day? You can be sure no Eygptian school spoke of the Jewish God, nor prayed to him. The world was then and is today ruled by Satan for the time being.
Its proven many times in the bible , certainly Satan could not have offered Jesus who knew the truth; all the kingdoms of the world if he would worship him , if Satan was not in charge of those kingdoms.
The wall of seperation of church and state has always exsisted. Because Goverments or states would defile the holy things of God.
God was opposed to judges and kings in the first place and he fortold that they would be a yoke on the neck of his people.
We are lucky that the world has not yet gotten to the point where christians are reguarly persecuted as you suggest ,( no cross's in school , or bible's) for the time being those are isolated incidents. The bible predicts it will be the main stream soon. As the bible tells us that the world will turn against the people of God right before the end.

Oh I don't think the Democrats have the market cornered on the gay issue .
After all Haggard leader of a reported christian group with numbers in the 60 million range just admitted to sexual immorality. he's being accused by a gay man you know. He didn't admit being with the gay man, but that truth will come out too, and Haggard and Bush are co supporters. People Like Folley and Tom Delay are not enough to show you that both political parties are corrupt? One just mask's it in christianity. The other leaves God's name out of politics which come to think of it is more respectful. God's name should not be smeared in the goverments of men.
Conda Lisa Rice presented a award to a gay man with his partner present and his parents , then complimented the pair on how proud thier in laws must be.
Thats not the only subject they know will never end and are using to decieve the people of God. The politicians know they get votes by playing on christians emotions , yet they know they will never act beyond a symbollic failed attempt to change them, because both parties support the things you rail about.
I ask you why would we want the symbols of God in a public place?
Public leaves them open to ridicule and attack. God did not treat the Covenant of the Ark that way. Nobody was allowed to even touch it.
Its enough at the moment that in a world ruled by Satan we are free to worship God without persecution. The bible tells us that the time will come when we will be persecuted for our worship of God. Its that time that we need to prepare for and unite in support of each other. Because when that time comes and its coming soon many christians will be killed for thier worship of God and then you'll have a right to holler long and loud your being persecuted, because you will be, if they let you live.
Is it, or is it not, Democrats behind such actions and moves?
I suggest looking at the numbers of people who support groups like the red letter christians , you'll see that many devout christians vote for the party that is involved in doing the least evil at the moment. Thats the only choice we are ever given. Till God says enough and this system of things ends.

2 is the norm. Copy, paste and then use the Quote functions. That makes it alot easier.
Ah, the Egyptians did not rule during the time of Christ. Rome did.
Which does not change the fact governments are by God.
Its proven many times in the bible , certainly Satan could not have offered Jesus who knew the truth; all the kingdoms of the world if he would worship him , if Satan was not in charge of those kingdoms.
That is a distortion. Satan is the god of the air. Not the government of the world. He achieves nothing approaching that until the Trib.
The wall of seperation of church and state has always exsisted. Because Goverments or states would defile the holy things of God.
That is absolutely a false statement. Church was never intended to be banned from impact on government. Government was banned from declaring a State Denomination.
God was opposed to judges and kings in the first place and he fortold that they would be a yoke on the neck of his people.
Which does nothing to change the fact God sets the governments.
We are lucky that the world has not yet gotten to the point where christians are reguarly persecuted as you suggest
But they are. Mildly in the US to be illegal in the EU and a death penalty in Islamic Nations.
,( no cross's in school , or bible's) for the time being those are isolated incidents.
No. They are not isolated. They are very wide spread.
The bible predicts it will be the main stream soon. As the bible tells us that the world will turn against the people of God right before the end.
Which is happening now. We are in the Great Apostacy.

Of coarse its anti God, but are you forgetting who is the ruler of this world? Satan rules this world and all the goverments in it.
That is false.
God sets the governments. Satan is the god of the air.
Satan does not receive that scope of power until his 42 months in the Trib.
Oh I don't think the Democrats have the market cornered on the gay issue .
They dominate it.
After all Haggard leader of a reported christian group with numbers in the 60 million range just admitted to sexual immorality. he's being accused by a gay man you know.
Yep. I know. Which does not defend the Dems.
He didn't admit being with the gay man, but that truth will come out too, and Haggard and Bush are co supporters.
Were. Not are.
People Like Folley and Tom Delay are not enough to show you that both political parties are corrupt?
I never said both are not corrupt. But the Dems are so very much further down that road.
One just mask's it in christianity. The other leaves God's name out of politics which come to think of it is more respectful. God's name should not be smeared in the goverments of men.
That is a semantical spin. Dems don't want God around, period.
At least some Rep. do and others are not brave enough to actually buck God.
Conda Lisa Rice presented a award to a gay man with his partner present and his parents , then complimented the pair on how proud thier in laws must be.
Disgusting.
Thats not the only subject they know will never end and are using to decieve the people of God. The politicians know they get votes by playing on christians emotions , yet they know they will never act beyond a symbollic failed attempt to change them, because both parties support the things you rail about.
Still a fact Dems are worse than Rep on those issues.
Not good. Not wanted. But handing it over to the Dems isn't an answer.
I ask you why would we want the symbols of God in a public place?
To keep God in the public eye.
Public leaves them open to ridicule and attack. God did not treat the Covenant of the Ark that way. Nobody was allowed to even touch it.
Totally a bad argument to compare. The Temple and such that held it were public. The garb worn by Jews had symbols on them.
Its enough at the moment that in a world ruled by Satan we are free to worship God without persecution.
Say that in the Middle East.

Peach,
Although I haven’t much to add to this thread, I just wanted to point out that you just haven’t met the right, gay men if you were to make a comment such as “Certainly I always know when I come across a gay man.” I promise you , you don’t . there is no way. I am not claiming to be wise beyond my years……
Actually in adding to the topic of voting, I have never voted. Each time the party did seem to be evil and wrong. Why do we even have to have "democrat", republican, and no real in between?

I did read.
RCC, Methodists and Main Stream denominations are extremely liberal in the main. They are more devout to pop psychology, being politically correct and so on than having sound doctrine.
Does not matter how many degrees or how much one writes. If they defend such as homosexuality, abortion and such, they are not Biblical.
If they put more ephasis on 'social justice' than salvation, they are not spiritual.
Yes. We have duties to the environment, people and so on. But from a Biblical context and approach. Not a social or cultural one.
As for not seeing a Rapture at all, that means you either do not read literally or study from a pre-determined doctrinal position.
1 Cor, Mat 24, Mat 25, Rev 3:10 and the 24 Elders, at the First Seal, are Rapture versus. The 24 didn't get there on their own or get glorified by themselves.

As Jane says, you have been around gays that you did not know were gay.
Yes, the Holy Spirit guides and helps us. No, he does not tell us every bad person around us.
There is a gift called discernment of spirits. Which is in part seeing other more truthfully. All Christians do not have it.
It is already evident you don't have it when you believe cults, with beliefs God tells you make them ac's, are good brothers and sisters in Christ.
