Here I am again asking another question, that Im sure you are all going to shake your heads at but ....

Now, We are commaned to Love the Lord first and foremost, right?

Now is loving God and Loving Jesus the same thing? I mean are they not the same ? Jesus is God in human form right? And is loving the Lord , loving everything he is and wanting to be like him and changing our behavoir to be more Christ like.

Its hard to feel the same kind of love , like we might feel for our children or parents or friends. Is it a different kind of love . Maybe I am over thinking this , but I suppose as you grow as a christian you feel it more ?

If God and Jesus are the same then why is there such a big difference between the God of the Old test and Jesus.

God of the Old test scares me and Jesus comforts me .

signed Confused  I just love these little guys:):

What confuses many is not understanding there is not just one word for love in the Greek. There are several, and they have distinctly different meanings.

See if reading here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greek_words_for_love) helps.

So, when you think of loving God and Christ, you have to remember relationships of being God, Father, Savior, Brother, King and more.

So, it is a complex set of relationships. Not the same in every aspect.

Do you remember that persons usually went to priests and repent, yes that same kind of thing. Well Jesus is our mediator He's intervening on our behalf, pleading for a second chance each time we mess up to His Father, He's the Son of God (st john 3 vs 16). Love From The creator is unconditional He loves us despite our faults-those dirty attitudes that we have, I see that as love even with our faults. As humans we love because of who the person is so we love with conditions. All love comes from above thats what we should endeavour to do love our neighbours as ourselves. Neighbours meaning anyone we come in contact with daily. Continue to trust God and ask as much questions as possible thats how we learn.

I can attest to the fact that God will teach you to love him above all others in this life.

he did with me at least. I had to learn that until you put him first in life and your emotions you risk loosing what human loves you have.

As you study and pray he will teach you to love him.

Once thats done then your human relationships will also fall into place.

But for me it was imprtant to learn that my love for God has to be stronger than the love I have for my kids, hubby or family.

I'm a stuborn sort of gal so it was a hard lesson to learn.

Once I got it, my life has been much happier and stress is a thing I remember but no longer feel.

Wvpeach1963 I had to learn to trust GOD first then myself. I had a problem saying I love someone when I know they just hurt me, it takes time and like you said praying, reading GOD'S word and meditating. These help for me and gradually I start to love despite people's faults. We all as christians can love unconditional, we just need to let go and let GOD has HIS way. May GOD continue to keep, bless and inspire you, have a good and GODLY day.
