View Full Version : What do you drive?
'05 Chevrolet Trailblazer EXT
http://images.securedwebform.com/stock/300/chevrolet/trailblazer/2005/5od.jpg
Room for 5 adults and 2 children, 4.2-liter inline-6, dual overhead cams, four valves per cylinder, variable phasing for the exhaust cam = 275 HP.
With the longer wheelbase and 17" tires, it rides like a towncar. It has no problem at all pulling my popup camper.
. . . and can get on the freeway with authority.

1968 Chevy Camaro SS 396 [my BIL's car] could pass anything on the road except a gas station. . . .

1975 Vega GT [ordered it new, $4200]
Mechanical Advance Distributor
Positraction, front and real sway bars, rear traction bars
IECO short block, steel sleeves, 8.5:1 popups
1/2 race cam
Dual Weber side drafts
2.93:1 rear end
4 speed manual
. . . people couldn't believe that it would do 55MPH in second.
If I kept my foot out of it, I could get 32MPH on the highway.
Had it up to 117MPH on the desert between El Paso and Carlsbad. . . still had gears but the front end was getting light.
Set a respectable record for El Paso to San Antonio [mid '70s: radar detector and CB radio]
600 miles in 8 hours and 10 minutes.
. . . from just outside El Paso to Fort Stockton, got with 3 18-wheelers and a Datson 260-Z and we were running 100-105 the whole way.
This Vega was destined for a V-8 transplant, but along the line, I got married.
. . . and my priorities changed.
I forgot headers. . . . those more than anything made my Vega scream.

Unfornunately, I wrecked my car in July (the day after it was paid off!) and had to buy a new one.... bought a 2006 Hyundai Sonata. We love it!!!!! Don't know how to add a pic though :-(

I drive a charcoal gray 2005 Dodge Stratus. It's a pretty good car.
Glad to see you back. . .
. . . I was going to organize a search party.
