A wine bag was made out of leather.

As grape juice ferments in it the leather hardens and the bag becomes brittle.

If you put another batch of grape juice in it, this time when t ferments the bap crack and eventually split open.

It can only do one fermentation. No more.

He was talking about change. The Pharisees were comparing how it was done to how Christ was doing it.

Christ was explaining his coming was new wine. It could not be put in the leather that held the the Mosaic Covenant ways. His ways shattered the old ways.

Those who drank wine would never drink grape juice.
