Adults in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank blame the United States for recent problems, according to a poll by the Palestinian Center for Public Opinion. 30.6 per cent of respondents think the United States is responsible for the deterioration of the economic conditions in the territories of the Palestinian Authority.

Israel is second on the list with 28.4 per cent, followed by Hamas with 24.6 per cent, Fatah with 12.2 per cent, and the European Union (EU) with 3.1 per cent.

On the evening of Nov. 6, Haniyeh and Abbas met for the first time in a month in an attempt to strike a definitive deal that will restructure the government and move towards an efficient joint administration of the Palestinian territories. Hamas announced that it has chosen a candidate to replace Haniyeh as prime minister, but did not disclose his name. No other announcement was made after the meeting.
