Is fasting a NT commandment from God?

OT Jews fasted. But there was actually only one command to fast on one day God had set apart as an ongoing holy day for Israel.

So, while I am not saying God does not honor it, is it something 'special' set aside and commanded by God?

Ya know Core, when thinking about it in OT and NT terms...... I just don't know. I guess it was always something that I took for granted in my Christian walk.
