We were excited to find this site! We are desperatly seeking a sound Biblical (non-fad/seeker driven church) in the Atlanta (south metro) area. Just thought we would try and ask if anyone knew of one.

Thank You,
Peach

Thank you, Peach. Welcome to CTZ!

I don't know of any churches around Atlanta since I'm from NC, so hopefully one of our other members will be able to help you out. I just wanted to post and say that we are glad you are here, and hopefully you will be able to find a Christ-centered church.

I am down in Fayette County. Not sure if that is too south.

Really not sure what kind of church you are looking for. I have not had much luck finding a good one.

North of here, in Clayton and Fulton, I think the finding is about zero for good ones. A number of big time WoF and such.

Greetings as well.

Thanks to you both! Core issue, yes Fayette county is where we are as well. I do wish you had a long list of great, on fire, on track churches to offer though :(. We are feeling most discouraged. Any advice would be most appreciated!

Wish I could give it to you.

We have lived here 20 years. Pretty much given up on finding a good one.

Really get tired of churches based on denominational teaching instead of just digging in deep to the Bible.

It is a common frustration to those who want to get it right, sorry to say. :not:

The way I find churches when I am looking for one is a new area is the phone book.

You could just go around testing them lol.

Peach,
When I relocated and asked my former pastor how to find a church immersed in scripture, one that believed the Bible to be God's authoritative word, a church among whose purpose was saving souls and heeding God's word, he told me to look in the telephone book for churches whose name included God or Christ, or Bible, or Faith, or have in their name a name Christ was called, such as Shepherd, etc. I recently remarried a gentleman from Peachtree City, south of Atlanta, and were married in his former Church, Christ the Good Shepherd. This is a wonderful congregation, who live and breath the word of God. I have been there many times and we had marriage counseling there as well. If you have a chance to visit, I wholeheartedly recommend. Good luck!
