Warning! Rant ahead!!!

Oh my gosh! I'm gonna pop!

When Tom Baker was playing Doctor Who, I watched it faithfully...never missed a show. When he died and changed shape, I quit watching. It wasn't the same.

So, when I saw that the show had been revived, I refused to watch it because to me, Tom Baker was MY Doctor. My fave.

Well, against my better judgment, I started watching it again out of curiosity. I got hooked!!!! I loved this new Doctor (Christopher Eccleston). LOVED HIM!!! I was happy again...I had my Doctor Who show back.

Well......

HE CHANGED!!!

NEW ACTOR!!!

I mean, auuuughhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!! Just when you get attached to the Doctor, he goes and changes!!! I know Eccleston wanted to leave the show, but COME ON!!!

I don't like this new Doctor. I'm not even sure I'm gonna give him a chance. Just when you get attached, like I said, he changes. Makes me mad.

:grr:

:sob:

/gonna leave the rant switch on for a little while.

Yep.

Baker was THE best. Although I enjoybed his predecessor as well.

And Eccelston indeed was good. Very Bakerish.

My wife and I did not like him being replaced. I hope the new one is not corny.

We will see! :not:

Definitely ready. But not sure about this new Doctor.

Time will tell!

Well, I believe that Chrystalwuzhere was right. The new "proper" doctor is uninspiring. So, for the moment, my wife and I have lost our determination to watch the new series.

If we do not catch a marathon of re-runs, then we will buy the season two collection on CD.

What do think, Core? Chrystalwuzhere?

The actor is doing fine, I believe.

What is hurting is this need for PC on the interracial and bi-sexual stuff. And them skimping on budget, which they are always doing when it all ends up on the earth all the time.

Well, for us, the charisma of the last doctor overrode these shortcomings. However, when the current doctor took over, his uncharismatic personality was the "straw which broke the camel's back."

Yes, he was very good. Almost Tom Baker.

But, I see a distinct lessening in set and a script quality this season.

This happened before. It ending with the show being canceled.

It was BBC then and now. Not the show itself.

But those who hold the money can destroy the best of them.
