I believe many religions today just are not looking to or living for eterntiy. They are seeking ways to squeeze every bit of materialism and fleshly pleasure out of this life.

The forms may vary. But if you really examine them they are earthly based drives.

Look at WoF. Do you see spirituality in it? Or being gods on this earth?

How about Islam. Sure looks like earthly power lust to me.

The Other Side of New Age? A continuation of this earth.

Reincarnation. Here over and over again.

And even those that do heed God, to some minute degree, they have changed him into an enabler for them. They see themselves as gaining power and position here, then carrying it over to eternity.

Am I wrong?

no you are not wrong.

I have been to many churches who think we are suppose to except something from others or thier church.

THat is not the way we are suppose to be.

We are to give our selves and give to others and not except anything as far as what we can gain.

I see people in my own church getting mad because they were not asked to lead a play or
music. THat is just wrong. we are not to think of ourselves higher than anyone.

We are to give of ourselves and not boast about it either.

That can be hard, but as Christians we are to uphold that.

Your not wrong about what you have posted.

I agree whatever happened to being a servant of the most high God?

man thinks he is the center of the universe, but hes not God is.

Brandi, I sure dont like it in churches cause you are correct, and it seems so much pushing shoving emotionally sometimes outright and a whole lot of thoughtlessness also,
all the way from the top to the bottom.

See,

Thats the thing. We may not like it in churches, I know I do not always. But we must still go and help others as much as we can. I feel that putting myself out there to teach, or help in anyway I can might not help me , but it sure will help someone sometime.

I remember my sunday school teacher, we all picked on her because we had a lack of rules ect. and we were young and did not know how to act. BUt I remember how great her heart was, and to this day I want to be like her.

She touched me, and I have since wrote her and let her know. That is what I want to do, even though at this point and time of teaching, I do not get any or hardly any satisfaction, I know in my heart its there.

God does reward those who do his will. I find it hard sometimes to see that, but in the long run, I know in my heart it helps.

I am not putting myself up high because of what I do, but I am just giving an example of how we are to be.

Its hard, its so hard sometimes to serve others, but in truth its what God wants and he will give back to us in some way.

The smiles of others is all I want for now.

Yep. It is right to go and try.

Problem is if you have a problem with any part of the doctrinal statement, no matter how trivial, they expect you to endorse it, adhere to it and teach it.

If you do not, you are a permanent guest. Which means you cannot do anything other than be a guest.

I volunteered to teach on how to handle cults in one, since so many were coming to so many members doors. No one else there new squat on the issue other than throw Bible verses at them.

Guess what. Because I was not a member because they had some totally erroneous Biblical doctrines, I could not teach. And was told to shut up when I questioned those doctrine when taught in the membership class.

End result? They would not back off the stance of 'this is what our denomination teaches,' so they lost a lot of members rather than to relent, examine and embrace other Christians.

This is the rule, not the exception, in denominational churches.

I was stunned volunteering and being rejected and questioning a doctrine Biblically and being told the doctrine was supreme triggered a virtual war in that church.

Those loyal to the denomination 'won.' All other left.
