does anyone know what to say to a guy that thinks that when you die it like game over i have been trying to help this guy.
I hope you don't mind? I started a thread to help us answer your question.
It would help to know what your relationship with this person is? Is he a friend you know well? Someone you see often or once in awhile? Maybe a neighbor or a co-worker?
We can't feel responsible for every soul we meet but we should try to represent Christ as best we can to every soul we meet. To some the best we can do is sow a seed(give a word), or water a seed already sown with love and care(a good deed).
While you are speaking with the person try to listen to what he is saying and listen to what scriptures are coming to mind and what your heart is telling you to do.
The scriptures may not mean so much to you but they are what God is saying to the person, trust God, lean on him and not your own understanding. What your heart tells you to do for this person may be more than your mind is willing to give, try to listen to your heart and trust God in your giving. Realize that God is more interested in this persons salvation than you are.
Be aware that this person is in the clutches of satan, but also be aware that satan is a defeated foe. He has power in this persons life, but your weapons of warfare are mighty to the pulling down of strong holds. In your life your weapons are the word of God, Faith, assurance of your position, being certain of who you are in Christ, and sincere love. Paul mentioned others.
You may be only a piece in the work God is doing to save this person. Be satisfied in doing your part and trust God to do the rest.
You are anointed and appointed to preach this Gospel, declare it with out apology and declare it with certainty.
Your brother in Christ,
