most of you know my problems. I was asking the Lord today "why"????
about a lot of stuff and for strength to fight the battles I need to.
one thing that came clear was when I was a child,
I always felt everything was "my fault"!
the trouble was because of ME.
I think the Lord was telling me, the family was placing their guilt on me,
not taking responsibility for themselves and being young and foolish I took it.
heres an example, say theres a fight between family members,
although I was'nt involved, but it was in regard to me, I felt overwhelming guilt.
now there was no fight, it was all in my head and heart.
but now I think there was a undercurrent that I picked up on.
I need released from this bondage. I am responsible for my actions,
not the outcomes of their actions or anyone elses!
this is a problem that creates depression, anxiety, fear,
and who knows what else.
and too I dont want to walk away from the Lord when he releases me from this or
turn hard! another fear...

It looks like you are gaining some understanding of your situation.
I heard it said once that with knowledge comes understanding, and with understanding hope, and with hope, comes expectation.
(Jer 29:11 NIV) For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

(Prov 10:22 NRSV) The blessing of the LORD makes rich, and he adds no sorrow with it.

In other words, you believe your family's word over your own.
Jessie, I think you need to believe in yourself. Faith in God cannot replace faith in yourself.
Take that leap of faith. :showoff:

insightful! thank you. I was controlled by an immense amount of guilt.
getting better at not taking it on although I still do it at times.
what you said is interesting.... they were destroying my self confidence as I look back, but they'd do it in a "nice" way.... although one cant call that nice!
what a box I was in with no way out. :faint:

I am quite familiar with this phenomenon. All my life, I have unwittingly received demonic whisperings of "counsel" that targeted my self-confidence. Now it is time for me to fight back internally, in mainframe battle
Ephesians 6 [NIV]
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God[...]16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
If you perfect your faith in yourself, then merge faith in yourself with a strong faith in God (http://www.studylight.org/lex/heb/view.cgi?number=0430), you will be powerful defensively. This process is a critical element of "upgrading" our spiritual shields.
2 Timothy 1:7 [NIV]
For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.
Romans 8:15 [NIV]
For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship.[a (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?book_id=52&chapter=8&verse=15&version=31&context=verse#fen-NIV-28117a)] And by him we cry, "Abba,[b (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?book_id=52&chapter=8&verse=15&version=31&context=verse#fen-NIV-28117b)] Father."
We have freedom in Christ Jesus (Galatians 5:1 (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Galatians%205:1;&version=31;), 1 Corinthians 10:23 (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1%20Corinthians%2010:23;&version=31;), etc.). Let us fully realize this freedom (Hebrews 12:1 (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Hebrews%2012:1;&version=31;)).
