The "kings of the earth" are found mostly on the wrong side of God in the book of Revelation, even at the great battle they are found on the side of Satan, yet in chapter 21, they are noted for "bringing their glory" into new Jerusalem.

Any thoughts?

The kings in Revelation are during the Trib on this earth in sinful flesh. Chapter 21 is on the New Earth in glorified flesh.

For clarity, they means after the destruction of this earth after the MK.

Thanks ci, one would think they'd be given different titles for clarity.

Kings of the "new earth"?

In Revelation 1:5 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,

6And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Of course that's KJV, but here Jesus Christ is the prince (ruler) of the kings of the earth. How does that fit in? Did they just rebel?

Also John noted in verse six: "and made us kings and priests unto God". I assume he was referring to the twelve?

More thoughts?

Grace and peace to you from him who is, and who was, and who is to come, and from the seven spirits[a (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=rev%201:5-6;&version=31;#fen-NIV-30687a)] before his throne, 5and from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood, 6and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and Father—to him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen.

This is part of the opening greeting of John to all the churches he wrote this to.

The seven spirits are the angels of the 7 churches and those seen in such as the Trumpets and Bowls.

Christ is the king of the earth. Has been since his birth.

We, as his brothers, are also made royal by the Holy Spirit and his blood. We will rule, under him, during the Trib. And fill other roles, then and in eternity.

Kingdom means a unified body of people. A nation of people.

As seen in Revelation, OT Israel has its role as Priests of the Father, and his wife, and the Church is Priests of Christ, and his bride.
We have a lot to learn and look forward to concerning these things once fully revealed to us.

Core: Christ is the king of the earth. Has been since his birth.

Vag: No argument there, but a small question: John 18:36 Jesus said, "My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jews. But now my kingdom is from another place."

Thoughts?

Core:We have a lot to learn and look forward to concerning these things once fully revealed to us.

Vag: Agreed!!!

Christ rules over the kings of the earth, but does not yet have a physical kingdom here.

The location of his kingdom is in Heaven until the Second Coming. Then it is in Israel. And in eternity it is the NJ on the New Earth.

So, while his saints are on the earth, today, his kingdom is not. We are all spiritually connected to that kingdom, as citizens of it.
