today I was reading in Jerimiah, and it talked about different things going to babylon...
one of them was "the sea" what is that? it was something in the temple.

it said that it would remain there until God came for it....

Jeremiah 51:42 is part of a prophecy I and others have mentioned before.

The sea is foreign armies that will wipe Babylon (Iraq) from the face of the earth to never be populated again.

I wonder if this is not what is going on in Iraq right now.

8 Babylon will suddenly fall and be broken.
Wail over her!
Get balm for her pain;
perhaps she can be healed. 9 " 'We would have healed Babylon,
but she cannot be healed;
let us leave her and each go to his own land,
for her judgment reaches to the skies,
it rises as high as the clouds.'

Jeremiah 52:17 (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?book_id=30&chapter=52&verse=17&version=31&context=verse)
The Babylonians broke up the bronze pillars, the movable stands and the bronze Sea that were at the temple of the LORD and they carried all the bronze to Babylon.
Jeremiah 52:16-18 (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?book_id=30&chapter=52&verse=16&end_verse=18&version=31&context=context) (in Context) Jeremiah 52 (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?book_id=30&chapter=52&version=31&context=chapter) (Whole Chapter)
Jeremiah 52:20 (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?book_id=30&chapter=52&verse=20&version=31&context=verse)
The bronze from the two pillars, the Sea and the twelve bronze bulls under it, and the movable stands, which King Solomon had made for the temple of the LORD, was more than could be weighed.
it was late last night, I should have said "the bronze sea"

Seems like it could at least be the birth pains of it??

I believe the Bronze Sea was a huge basin fixture in the Temple.

when do you think God will come back for it...

to have it returned? and what significance would it/ or does it have?

It was destroyed to haul. Which means it was melted down and cast into other things.
