I thought this was a good statement this person made.
"It is important for me to say that I did not ditch every single thing I had learned in the Faith Movement. Nobody ever serves up poison straight - they hide it in a large juicy steak. There's a lot of steak in the Faith teachings, but also there's poison, enough to kill you.
There are truths I don't want to lose, and I thank the Lord he's led me to see the Bible from a positive, believing attitude. Praise and the confession of scripture is important, and can confound the devil's attacks. Doubt should be banished from our thinking, and we ought to believe that God desires our health and wellbeing. We do have victory in Jesus Christ over all the works of the devil, and our daily life should reflect this attitude of victory."
We are to have faith in God. Not faith in faith or faith in a preacher. The whole thing is trusting him, loving him, spending time with him. Then be able to give out of that relationship to others what you have received from him.

It is an old cliche that the greatest lies begin with a grain of truth.
But a lot of steak in the WoF? Where?

Doubt should never be banished until all is tested against the Bible. Feeling good about it is not good enough.
And of course our lives should reflect Christ.
But this focus on stomping on Satan is absurd and non Biblical. Even Michael would not use such words when contending over the body of Moses.

Amen to that!

That is an excellent article.
It clearly points out that the WoF perverts the meaning of faith, Christ, our sin condition and more to a point ending up in the realm of Gnosis.
Which should be no suprise since the founders of the Pentecostal Movement were students of the Occult, Mysticism, New Thought and other totally non Christian beliefs and thinking.

good points to go over....
stomping on satan is very foolish and ignorant! yet I've heard that from woffers a lot...
and indeed is not biblical!
for me the steak is not the steak of truth but rather the fancy steak of being seduced with lies.
looks good and all but it is rank
they feed off the poor. making them poorer not only financily but spiritually as well.
and then to top it off making them feel and look as though they've done something wrong with God and thats
why they have all the troubles...
when its the wof leaders that have something wrong with themselves....
bottom feeders.

This is one of the most grevious areas to me.
They know the only ones in that movement who are getting rich are those feeding off the followers. And they keep doing it even knowing the harm they are causing.
No Christian, in my mind, can do that without suffering greatly from the Holy Spirit.

true very true, although it bewilders me how a person could be a Christian and still do it,
or continue in it for very long.

you will find woffers do not feel good. the continuously seek it.
stomping on satan, well, one thing I've found they have NO sense of fear.
normal fear. so even then they cant relate well with others sense of fear they
have to get away from it.

yep, they pervert everything spiritual and it does'nt stop there,
it goes right into the realm of the flesh!
and too I dont think one can run right along with this and stay that way and be saved and NOT have problems. if one can I do not believe they were saved to begin with.
its just not possible.
and the odd thing too is that my wof mil would not watch bewitched , start trek,
ect.... yet is involved in a highly occultic religion.
why star trek...? I dont know.
they get soooo superstitious. a small earthquake is not dicerned as such,
but rather demons.

When I first became a Christian I was misled into thinking that these `teachers` were genuine and that I wasn`t a `true` Christian if I didn`t speak in tongues, or remained poor, wasn`t healed etc.
They rely heavily on emotion, much as any cult leader does, and they love to claim authority by claiming that anyone who mocks them is `not really a born again believer`.
Fortunately, God led me away from these people, and helped me see how they were perverting the Word of God. They truly fit the words of Jesus when He said:
Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep`s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits... Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. (Matt. 7:15-16; 21)

Oh yes these people are very sneaky when it comes to non believers starting to seek and believe. And yes the poor. The poor are the biggest target because they are very desperate in their earthly money needs and things and so they are desperately seeking for someone to show them where to go and how to change and how to do it before they open the bible for themselves. The poor are ones who feel like they have lost hope because of their earthly financial position. And these wof seem to want to keep you down. They push you down and hold you there while making you think that everything is o.k. We can be feeling o.k. and happy and at peace with God through Jesus with what is said in the bible. Getting anything in return according to Gods Word means your soul being reborn and never having to perish when death arrives (of course a lot more, all described in wisdom of detail in the bible). Nothing to do with money. Money is only an earthly desire. Not a desire of Gods. God desires our souls and that is it. You lose your life to gain it so to speak. I am not preaching here am I ? I never know with what I say how it's going to be taken. I have to think before I speak and sometimes just bite my tongue without saying nothing. I have a hard time on knowing where the line is drawn... I am so new I am just learning I guess. When did wof start?

One learns by studying, listening, talking, considering feedback and then doing it all over again.
You are doing fine. Just keep at it.

Thats right and we have struggles because thats just life not because we deserve this or that. If something happens and someone deserves it they will know without anyone else telling them. If we do wrong God will tell us. So stomping on satan is just silly. I would actually be afraid to have that attitude. Its rather that we look to God for guidance and His wisdom and strength. Sorry if I am hashing this all out again but I agree with ya!

I was making many of these same points on a chat line the other day and I got whacked! Now I'm beginning to understand what is happening here. I was told in so many words that there was to be no Bible debating because it could hurt folks. I was saying these like where does the Bible teach that and such statements and things really boiled over and some pip-squeak of a mod turfed me. As long as all you ever said on there were cliches like Praise the Lord over and over and talk about the latest "Christian Music" every thing is groovy with that crowd. Oh yeah I mentioned that I thought Christian music was mostly horrible to my ears. I think that sealed my fate right there. My fault for wandering...CTZ RULES!!!

I had experiences like this as a new Christian with this group...... I was 'led' away from it and shown the 'err' of their way..... When I became a new Christian I sold everything I had, left a good paying 5 figure job and all its benefits.. to follow His leading.. At that time I had very little but the clothes on my back.. When confronted about that .. because I was not wearing fancy clothes and 500 dollar rolexes and my offerings were small.. some in the WOF took it upon themselves to try to cast out a 'spirit of poverty' from me... I just laughed.. I'm full of the Holy Ghost.. speak in tongues, confessing Jesus Christ as LORD and Savior and that He is God in the flesh..... and your trying to cast devils out of me cause my clothes dont match yours? lol... actually its nothing really to laugh at cause they were on the brink of Blasphemey.. attaining the Holy Ghost in my heart as a evil spirit cause my attire and offerings didnt match their 'faith' in the Lord...
Since then I've learned alot about this deception they teach and preach.. I believe it has to do with alot of Kingdom Now theology or Dominion Theology.. trying to 'build the kingdom on this earth thru material wealth and possessions'.... They're buidling the kingdom for Jesus...
Well You've either got the Kingdom inside you or you aint got it at all... and the other thing....
Jesus Is Bringing His Kingdom with Him when He invades from Heaven with His Holy angels and His Saints... He's going to set up His Kingdom .. the Messianic 1000 Year Reign of Jesus the Christ.. at His literal return....

So many just follow and don't read the bible for themselves :( . Thats why Jesus said only a few will find it, because He knew man.

Yes your experience was well said. It is so good to see how this experience can be used to help others see the Truth. Help pull others out of the fire so to speak. I find experiences I have had in the past are not so good but they give an example to show someone else that "hey I was there and now I have left and found Him and you can to." It is amazing to see how God can turn anything into His good and for His purpose.
You know my biggest thing was, that a good bunch of people told me to read my bible because I didn't know God. I believed, but didn't know Him, and because of this deceiving lie I was raised with, I got into a mess of trouble for a long time. But CTZ helped pull me out by introducing the first hard proof, the bible. When I first opened my bible the first scripture I saw was exactly what I was struggling with. That was the first time God spoke to me through His Word. I will never forget. That is why I am stuck on everyone needing to read the bible for themselves first thing. That is the only way people can overcome a deceiving lie is to find Truth in the scripture! People aren't going to find God through man. They can only find God through God and scripture is a perfect place to do so :)
