Please pray for a friend of mine named Tamara. She has been struggling
a couple of years with cancer. She had a brain tumor removed when the
cancer was first discovered but the tumor had numerous "finger-like"
projections that had gone deep into her brain in parts where it would
be too dangerous to remove. She did chemo then and it stopped the
growth for a while. But the parts of the tumor that could not be
removed have started growing again not long ago. They cannot operate
on it. She has already done all the chemo she can take without having
the chemo actually take her life, so they have stopped that now too.
She is now going through some experimental treatments but things are
not looking any better. In fact, the cancer has continued to
grow....35% or so since she started the chemo-therapy this time around.
She is only 37 and has a 6-yr old daughter. Please if you can -
remember them in your prayers.....it will take a miracle at this point.

Praying for your friend! Our daughter had cancer, emergency surgery to remove ove r 14 pounds of tumors and with people praying all over the globe, we are happy to report that today she is cancer free! They call it remission but even the oncologist is dumbfounded! There is power in prayer!! We know this firsthand!! God is good!

Amen PrayzHim - It is always good to hear positive stories. I've had a pretty mixed experience myself. I had an aunt die of lukemia at 30 & my dad died of cancer at 56. My grandmother had cancer several times - even had half a lung removed at one point - but each time she bounced back. She only died about a year ago....about 10 years to the day from when she had a heart valve surgery that the dr. told her would probably add 10 years to her life! (I know that doesn't sound like a good story, but my point is...she lived a long life even after having cancer 3 times.)
Anyway, Tamara is just struggling so much - it is hard for me to see a good outcome without a miracle. Thanks for sharing your story.

Tamara started a new round of chemo this afternoon. The Dr.'s are hoping this will not cause an allergic reaction & that the brief rest period will have helped build up her system enough to handle the chemo.
Praying still for Tamara & for the tumor she has to start to shrink.....

I got an email from Tamara's sister today regarding her condition. Sounds like she is getting a little better (at least from the pneumonia), but still needing prayer for the cancer. Also please continue to pray for her daughter & family.
I am Tamara's sister and at her request, I am helping her answer some of her email and updating her friends on her status. Tamara has been at MD Anderson since April 21st. She came down with Pneumonia and MD Anderson has been treating her. She continues to improve daily. While she is being treated for the Pneumonia, the doctors recommended that she continue her chemotherapy treatment in an attempt to slow the growth of the tumor. It is still our hope that the tumor will shrink and that she will be permanently healed. Please join with us in praying for that result.
Tamara is still in the hospital and is continuing her chemo. This passed Monday she continued her journey as she was moved to a Rehabilitation wing of the hospital to begin to build strength and to re-establish her ability to get up, stand and walk. She is has Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy each day. Her different types of therapy are for 3 hours per day so Tamara and I ask that you pray for her strength and endurance so that she can continue to receive the treatment and the personalized therapy that MD Anderson has so wonderfully provided to her.
Thank you for keeping her in your prayers.
p.s. I apologize that I was not able to answer all of the emails personally and had to opt for a summary note to everyone. I want to personally thank each of you for staying in contact with Tamara as she goes through this. I will continue to check her email and read to her any replies and notes of encouragement! You are welcome to email me and I will do my best to keep everyone informed.
