I thought this was a good statement this person made.
"It is important for me to say that I did not ditch every single thing I had learned in the Faith Movement. Nobody ever serves up poison straight - they hide it in a large juicy steak. There's a lot of steak in the Faith teachings, but also there's poison, enough to kill you.
There are truths I don't want to lose, and I thank the Lord he's led me to see the Bible from a positive, believing attitude. Praise and the confession of scripture is important, and can confound the devil's attacks. Doubt should be banished from our thinking, and we ought to believe that God desires our health and wellbeing. We do have victory in Jesus Christ over all the works of the devil, and our daily life should reflect this attitude of victory."
We are to have faith in God. Not faith in faith or faith in a preacher. The whole thing is trusting him, loving him, spending time with him. Then be able to give out of that relationship to others what you have received from him.

It is an old cliche that the greatest lies begin with a grain of truth.
But a lot of steak in the WoF? Where?

Doubt should never be banished until all is tested against the Bible. Feeling good about it is not good enough.
And of course our lives should reflect Christ.
But this focus on stomping on Satan is absurd and non Biblical. Even Michael would not use such words when contending over the body of Moses.
We are to have faith in God. Not faith in faith or faith in a preacher. The whole thing is trusting him, loving him, spending time with him. Then be able to give out of that relationship to others what you have received from him.
Amen to that!

That is an excellent article.
It clearly points out that the WoF perverts the meaning of faith, Christ, our sin condition and more to a point ending up in the realm of Gnosis.
Which should be no suprise since the founders of the Pentecostal Movement were students of the Occult, Mysticism, New Thought and other totally non Christian beliefs and thinking.

good points to go over....
stomping on satan is very foolish and ignorant! yet I've heard that from woffers a lot...
and indeed is not biblical!
for me the steak is not the steak of truth but rather the fancy steak of being seduced with lies.
looks good and all but it is rank
they feed off the poor. making them poorer not only financily but spiritually as well.
and then to top it off making them feel and look as though they've done something wrong with God and thats why they have all the troubles...
when its the wof leaders that have something wrong with themselves....
bottom feeders.

This is one of the most grevious areas to me.
They know the only ones in that movement who are getting rich are those feeding off the followers. And they keep doing it even knowing the harm they are causing.
No Christian, in my mind, can do that without suffering greatly from the Holy Spirit.

true very true, although it bewilders me how a person could be a Christian and still do it, or continue in it for very long.
