To those who have been called, who are loved by God the Father and kept by[1] Jesus Christ:
2Mercy, peace and love be yours in abundance.

The sin and doom of Godless men
3Dear friends, although I was very eager to write to you about the salvation we share, I felt I had to write and urge you to contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to the saints.
These saints are not defending sound doctrine.
4For certain men whose condemnation was written about[2] long ago have secretly slipped in among you.
Men pretending to be saints have deceptively joined them and are being allowed to stay.
They are godless men, who change the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord.
They are using the promise of being dead to sin in Christ to justify sinning. And preaching another Gospel that denies Christ is Lord and Savior of the saints.
But they are not saints.
5Though you already know all this, I want to remind you that the Lord[3] delivered his people out of Egypt, but later destroyed those who did not believe.
God saved all the nation of Israel out of Egypt. But when some used this freedom to sin and turn against God he destroyed them.
6And the angels who did not keep their positions of authority but abandoned their own home--these he has kept in darkness, bound with everlasting chains for judgment on the great Day.
God created all angels perfect and gave them authority and a home.
But 1/3 rebelled, turning on God, and used what he gave them against God. They warred against God under Satan and lost. Now they are chained in the Pit until the White Throne Judgment for eternal punishment.
7In a similar way, Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding towns gave themselves up to sexual immorality and perversion. They serve as an example of those who suffer the punishment of eternal fire.
Sodom and Gomorrah surrendered totally to sin leaving no room for God. They were punished in fire and are examples of what happen to all who turn against God.
8In the very same way, these dreamers pollute their own bodies, reject authority and slander celestial beings.
They have elevated themselves. Given themselves permissions and powers they do not have.
One cannot help but see Pentecostalism and its forms such as WoF talking about defeating Satan, crushing demons, being gods and so on.
9But even the archangel Michael, when he was disputing with the devil about the body of Moses, did not dare to bring a slanderous accusation against him, but said, "The Lord rebuke you!"
Michael, who is far more powerful and knowledgable than any human kept himself to operating within the authority of God. He did not step out on his own.
10Yet these men speak abusively against whatever they do not understand;
They give themselves positions and powers over what they do not even begin to understand.
and what things they do understand by instinct, like unreasoning animals--these are the very things that destroy them.
But the things they do understand by Law of Conscience, such as pride, lust and desire, they do not control but allow to lead them into deeper sin and destruction.
11Woe to them! They have taken the way of Cain; they have rushed for profit into Balaam's error; they have been destroyed in Korah's rebellion.
They have gone the way of those of the past who knew better allowing their own desires to override their knowledge and destroy them.
12These men are blemishes at your love feasts, eating with you without the slightest qualm--shepherds who feed only themselves.
They feed upon those they are suppose to be teaching righteousness. They work for themselves without guilt.
Again one can see such as the WoF Movement here.
They are clouds without rain, blown along by the wind;
They are like clouds showing the promise of rain to water crops. But they float by on the winds that only dry the crops out more.
autumn trees, without fruit and uprooted--twice dead.
They are fruit trees that bear no fruit. Such are dug up to die and are replaced.
13They are wild waves of the sea, foaming up their shame;
They are like violent waves at sea, generating foam and destruction in their chaos.
wandering stars, for whom blackest darkness has been reserved forever.
Like rogue stars their light fades as they wander farther into the outer reaches of space where they light nothing and are surrounded by darkness. Or angels who fell and lost their light and are doomed to eternal darkness.
14Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these men: "See, the Lord is coming with thousands upon thousands of his holy ones
At the Second Coming Christ will be revealed with an army of his saints.
15to judge everyone, and to convict all the ungodly of all the ungodly acts they have done in the ungodly way, and of all the harsh words ungodly sinners have spoken against him." 16These men are grumblers and faultfinders; they follow their own evil desires; they boast about themselves and flatter others for their own advantage.
Christ will judge the nations and purge the earth of those who took the Mark and warred against him in the Trib. Others will be see their error and turn to him.
Then after the Millennial Kingdom and the end time he will judge the lost at the White Throne Judgment.
A call to persevere
17But, dear friends, remember what the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ foretold. 18They said to you, "In the last times there will be scoffers who will follow their own ungodly desires." 19These are the men who divide you, who follow mere natural instincts and do not have the Spirit.
They had been warned such would exist. That such would pursue their lusts and would not be saved. And they would pretend to be saints and bring division, weakness and harm to the saints.
20But you, dear friends, build yourselves up in your most holy faith and pray in the Holy Spirit.
But those he was addressing while allowing these men among them were saints. They were different.
21Keep yourselves in God's love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.
They needed to stay true to correct doctrine and grow in sanctification. They needed to stay spiritually focused and not worldly focused.
A warning here to such as in the WoF Movement.
22Be merciful to those who doubt;
Those struggling in doubt need mercy, understanding and guidance.
23snatch others from the fire and save them;
Those following these men and not Christ are not saved. Teach them correct doctrine and truth. Rescue them from these men.
to others show mercy, mixed with fear--hating even the clothing stained by corrupted flesh.
As for those emersed in these sins and teaching error have mercy cautioned by fear. They are dangerous men.
Hate their sins, do not follow them, but try to rescue them.
Doxology
24To him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy-- 25to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen.
Christ by the Holy Spirit can preserve them. All they have to do is have faith and work on their sanctification in truth.
